How to use this map:

  1. Double-click on any state or area to "center" it on the map.
  2. Once centered in the area of interest, use the "zoom-in" feature (+) to descend in altitude.
  3. Some members are worldwide, so you can also "zoom-out" to see them.
  4. Click on any ballon to see that attendee's forum handle and other information.
  5. While you can zoom in right to the street/building level, the actual ballon placement are usually general in nature, the city they have listed in their profile, and does not depict attendee's actual home
  6. Some members are international. You can zoom out to the world level to see FJR friends in other countries.

How to be added to the map:

  1. Fill out your profile on the forum by clicking here. Fill in the Location field with your City, State. Example: Los Angeles, CA
  2. Note: Spaces and abbreviations are critical. It must be in the format your city, followed by a comma, followed by a space, and then followed by the two letter CAPITAL acronym for your state (or province) that the post office recognizes. Examples of entries that will NOT work include Orlando, Fl, near Sacramento, CA or Boston, Massachusets or Philadelphia, P.A. (USA)

    and/or

  3. Add latitude and longitude in decimal degrees in your profile by clicking here. Fill in the Latitude and Longitude fields. Example: 46.2631 and -119.20422 The #1 mistake people make is to have a longitude that's not negative. U.S. people are all negative longitude!
  4. Note: Entering coordinates as decimal degrees are critical. Examples of entries that will NOT work include N46d14'17", W118d49'19" or 46 14.25, -118 49.27. If you live in the U.S....make sure your longitude is a negative number or you'll find your icon in the vicinity of Tibet! Resources to find your latitude and longitude is here and an online coverter to decimal degrees is here. Also, it is suggested you don't put your exact coordinates for security reasons. Maybe your neighborhood.

  5. Send a PM to Ignacio that you've updated your profile here and then patiently wait to be added.

Note: Only members who actually have FJRs will be included on the map. If you are considering an FJR feel free to request addition once you have an FJR.
