I don't know what your height/inseam is (mine is 6'/34"), but the Yamaha touring w/s on the 2018 I just sold was every bit as good as the Cal Sci w/s that I had on my 2006 back in the day. Congrats on your new bike in my favorite color, Cobalt Blue, just like my 2006. Jevers

Just throwing this out there as this particular scenario actually played out when I sold my ST1100 to a gentleman from Alabama. I am going to take anywhere from 1 to 3 of my bikes (FJR being 1 of them) to ride the Ozarks the 3rd week in April. If anyone wants to make a deal with free delivery...

I don't remember what the going rate was back in 2006 for a new FJR 1300A, but the lowest price I could find in Minnesota was $12k. I shopped around and found it for $10,500 in Chicago. Guess where I bought it 😏... Chicago, of course!

WHAT?! You actually have to pull the cams to adjust the valves?!?!?!?! That reason alone would be enough justification to just leave the valves alone. Honestly..... When is the last time you heard of someone burning a valve on a FJR from being too tight. Personally, I think I will roll the dice...

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune! I'm also sorry that I can't be of any help as I have not done a valve check. Just curious... How many miles are on your FJR and did you have to adjust any? Good luck with sorting out the gremlins, you will get them eventually. Jevers
