Never paid any attention to the spec in manual. Just adjust so all are even. Pretty easy to do. No reason for the fudge factor.

I also find shifting gets notchy when it needs an oil changed (shared oil in engine/transmission).

Couple things - Doesn't take much effort to pull a rubber valve stem all the way through the wheel - done it a few times. Really easy...
