Okay so how do I get that to you and get you my address? I’m kind of new to the forum and don’t know if I just give you my email on the forum or what the rules are for this.

Steering head socket vs spanner for setting torque

So yesterday I decided to do my 600 mile steering head re-torque only to find out that the socket I bought from Ebay, which they claimed was for the FJR - didn't fit. So I decided to just order the recommended wrench from Amazon and as it turns out it's out of stock. So I guess I'll have to do...

Steering head socket vs spanner for setting torque

Okay, thanks guys. I figured it would be the same torque setting for both, but thought I'd double check, since I have the correct socket, but didn't see where the service manual gave an "either or" for use. Appreciate it.

Steering head socket vs spanner for setting torque

Can a steering nut socket be used for this rather than the special scanner tool? Or is it required that the scanner tool be used?

    FJR 1300 Rear Trunk

I looked at the Yamaha box but decided on the large adjustable SHAD instead because of flexibility and price and availability. Can expand to 3 different volumes which is great. It also takes a special base plate and I’m pretty sure the Yamaha does also.

    Service Intervals

Since this is my first FJR (previously owned HD's and Triumphs), I'd like to get some input regarding dealer service. Today I stopped at a Yamaha dealer to inquire about my first service interval (600 miles). They told me it's a 3 hour service plus parts. Then he said the 16,000 service interval...

    Signalling Fuse

Thanks to everyone who replied....as a new FJR owner I really appreciate the support of the FJR communiity. I did install the horns this afternoon and they work great! I've owned triumphs and Harleys in the past and why they always install the cheapest horn on the motorcycle is beyond me, since...

    Signalling Fuse

My signalling fuse (7.5 amp) blew - probably because I was going to replace the stock horn and tried to test the two wires to see which one was the hot lead and I must have somehow shorted them out and blew the fuse. I didn't have a 7.5 in my inventory so replaced it with a 10 amp fuse. Okay...

    Engine bolt torque specs

I just purchased my first FJR after riding Harley’s and Triumphs all these years. I’m new to the forum. I’m installing T-Rex crash bars and am wondering if someone could let me know what the torque settings are for the engine bolts as well as for the muffler clamp bolt. Thanks in advance.
