I would also like to add that putting your VIN into the NHTSA website will show if any outstanding recalls exist on your bike. My 2014 ES is new to me but i’ve been riding and racing for 47 years. Not a deal breaker for me as I do all my repairs on all of my bikes and cars, If i can. Once I get the bike registered (bought the bike in colorado and toured it back to GA, 1800 mile ride with 0 issues.). I’ll either buy the switch myself and or let Yamaha know that the repairs have been completed so that my VIN can be removed off the checklist.
Very good reading here. I would also like to add that putting your VIN into the NHTSA website will show if any outstanding recalls exist on your bike. My 2014 ES is new to me but i’ve been riding and racing for 47 years. A recall was present on mine, but didn’t scare me away from buying it as the prior owner apparently didn’t respond to the recall or didn’t care. Front brake switch is showing as the recall. Thank you for maintaining this wonderful information website and look forward to contributing if i can.
