I wrote this for Bounce, over in this thread:

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/153006-peer-pressure-ride-to-work-day/page-3?

but I'm pretty pleased with it and think it merits a broader audience, and possibly contributions of additional verses.

Dedicated to Bounce, to be hummed along to the tune of the can-can, I give you

"The Fully Farkled FJR"

Dear Yamaha, never make a car,
We dearly love the FJR.
But we’re going to Farkle it,
Because some parts disappoint a bit.

The wind shield is the first to yield
Got to keep the air away
Next the seat, it’s not so sweet
When we’re riding all the day

Wild Bill pegs will save our legs
On a long stretch of highway
Add Cruise control, we like to roll
Who cares how much we have to pay?

Add more lights, we ride at nights
At the front and at the back
Put the fear in Elk and Deer
(For LED’s please see our FAQ)

Wyn’s Big Foot stand will be grand
When we’re parking on the sand
Penske says “replace the shocks”
In case we’re riding over rocks

Canyon cage is all the rage
Frame sliders are so passé
GPS adds finesse
In case we ever lose our way

RAM ball mount, I’ve lost count
Of the checks I’ve had to send
Change the tires, add more wires
When will it ever end?

The engine’s fine, both yours and mine
We need not change the ECU
Unless on ‘06 we like to dash
Without the risk of throttle lash

Givi’s mount, not Yamaha’s

Will withstand a thousand jars

Just in case you add a case,

To carry the stuff you need to do

Iron Butt, Don’t trust to luck,

A franken tank hangs off the back

Forget all cars, just raise the bars

To give you comfort that you lack

Better far than other bikes are
Is a Fully Farkled FJR

** Edited to add a couple of verses ...

That's good Riona.

Had trouble fitting it to the Can-Can, though it works fine with a Country/Western, cryin'-in-my-beer, banjo backed theme.

My talents don't extend to singing ... I'm literate but not musical. If there is a musically inclined Forum Member who can do the music, I'll collaborate on the lyrics and this can be sung around the camp fire on FJR rallies ....

"Paddle faster, I hear banjos"
