I had tix to see these guys in Oakland the fall of 1975, but Robert Plant suffered serious injuries in a car wreck and the show was cancelled. Guess this video will have to suffice, but sure would've liked to see them in person. I'm sure a lot of these tunes are on many of your Mp3 players making for some seriously good twisty road tunes.

(go to the 1:04 mark to see a 13+ minute drum solo by Bonham)

I never got to see them though I sure would have enjoyed it. I was busy attending all kinds of concerts in the middle seventies, but I don't recall ever having the opportunity to buy tickets to see them. I've watched a couple different tribute bands through the years doing Zep, and though both were really good, neither was the real deal. It's a shame they lost Bonham way back when. He was such a driving force in that band. I've always marveled at the way he could "build" a beat in any given song that almost seemed as though it wasn't in synch, but yet it was. He was a master and in my mind the best that ever was. He was only something like 32 years old when he died from complications of doing a little too much partying in 1980. It's a shame that so many of the giants of the 60's and 70's struggled so much with drugs and alcohol. Who knows what might have been. Funny: I never thought I'd still be listening to those same songs I heard for the first time in the very early 70's -- 44 years later. There has never been another band like them.

I still greatly enjoy when the family isn't home and I can crank up the Zep on my Marantz/Paradigm system. They and Queen still give me goosebumps!

Led Zep rules - period. They don't make music lime that anymore.

Their Earls Court concert is the best live video.

I finally managed to make MP3's of all my Led Zeppelin & Alice Cooper records.

Have most of the albums on my Zumo's SD cards.

My quote function doesn't seem to be working on this computer. Anyway, ANZAC, IIRC the Earl's Court show is the 2007 reunion that became the "Celebration Day" video. Yeah, that's the best live Zep video. "The Song Remains the Same" from the 70's is just ok, imho.

I did get to see LedZep when they came to Oklahoma City in 1974. It was one of the biggest disappointments ever. I'm sure we weren't exactly considered as important a venue as L.A. or NYC and the band was drunk and just "off." Robert Plant didn't know what town they were in. He walked to the mic and said "Hello....." one of the roadies came over and told him where he was. No worries. Celebration Day with a snow capped Jimmy Page and all the guys still on their game just cemented them one of the greatest bands of all time.

Saw them in 1970 at Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC. Apparently, they thought that everybody in the South would kill the hippies so Robert Plant went on about how happy they were with the enthusiastic audience in the arena. They extended their set a looong time for us. Fantastic concert.

Saw them June 3rd, 1977 at the "Big Sombrero" with my girlfriend. Had to talk to her parents for weeks to convince them to let her go.

Needless to say, I didn't take her to anymore concerts. The last song we heard, of 3 I think, was this one.

****** I'm gettin' old......just clicked CAJW's link, listened for about 2 minutes and thought "what a bunch of noise...."

Guess being in radio for 47 years has WAAAAAYYYYY over-exposed me to Zep. Burned out on them, I suppose. :(

"Stairway to Suicide" Yep, that's the one...the most overplayed song in the history of "Classic Rock." Why do so-called "radio consultants" insist on having that one frickin' song at the top of their playlists?

Good luck figuring out which of the 50+ stations in that list are "my" stations! :finger:

Talk shows use "bumper music" ya idjit...

They call it "bumper music" to bumper the segues between commercials and talk segments. Sheesh, don't talk **** you know nothing about, m'kay??

Listen guys, I still like to listen to certain Zep cuts, like "Kashmir", "Good Times Bad Times", "Ramble On", "Immigrant Song", but as one of the pre-imminent artists in the rock and roll genre, they've simply been overplayed for the last 40+ years and I can just barely tolerate them any more.

And so everyone can kiss my shiny, metal ass, music is a choice....

....not a religion!
