Thanks, Wheaton. I looked at both those routes. Hard to pick but, I'm leaning toward The AR route. I'll buy you a beer after you buy me the one you owe me! :D

Extreme, I'll make it a milk run. I'll take it slow and smell the roses along the way... :)

Yeah, if you can make the AR16...that would be my choice as well. :)

KJ .... Let me know your plans maybe I'll meet up and ride down to Maggie Valley.if. That works for U let me know. I know of a cool area in Knoxville, I know you' d enjoy. :)

As I will be taking the week off prior to NAFO and spending time with my family in Iowa,

I will be leaving CFO early Sunday and arriving in West Palm in time (Hopefully) for work at noon Monday,

working the week and then returning back north to MV with the wife and a different bike.

Unless I can justify another week off work.

…So I take it no one wants to ride with me?

Wow...you going to make it a SS1500? Which bike are you taking to which event?

The '05 to the NAFO w/fuel cell, and the '08 to EOM 2-up… I think?

I threw out my receipts and paper work for several BBGs. Then the IBA came out with 3 new levels of Mile Eater programs.

So my cert. riding is being reconsidered …

EDIT, See Rev1 in post #38

I've got a draft of my "connect the dots" ride, the stays/lodging are down pat but I may tweak in between yet, comments welcomed, I included lodging phone numbers and the rates if any are interested in some or all of the room stays. All fun peeps are welcome of course!...

My objectives were to stay away from big cities and slab as much as possible. Keep the connecting route at or under 2K miles. Include both Memphis (for a Beale St., night on the town) and a Nashville TN night visit (for Steamer, he's a big Country fan) yeehaw!

That route looks interesting. I actually may be doing something very similar. We will be spending the first night in or near St. Louis, though. I guess I really should start nailing it down....

I am off 9/24 but not heading to MV until 9/25 early......N O P & Q are in my neighborhood so expect me to visit you somewhere along the way.

^^^From Fayetteville, turn east on AR 16 and do not get off, no matter how twisty it is.
16 is on the route (G) on the map. I knew about that one from utter riders.

Keep 'em coming tho

Yeah, what...10 miles of it? Take it all the way across the damn state. Why go south???

The part of 16 that I excluded is the mello part of that road, not saying it's not a good part, but in viewing in google earth, it's about the same terrain/road as the entrance I have planned going into 16 (which turns to 21, dips south when it gets really twisty). I could add-in Springdale & Fayetteville to pickup on that small portion of 16 but not sure it's worth the 2 cities traffic. This segment of my trip is at 421.58 miles. Pretty much already a full day of twisty riding w zero slab.

Zoom in of that area

Oh well, we seem to be having a failure to communicate. If you think the part of Rt 16 east of where you are riding is mellow...the roads where you are going are mellower.

What part of take the damned rt 16 across the state ain't you getting?
biggrin.png

No skin off my nose...just hate for you to go out of your way to miss the good stuff.
smile.png

EDIT: BTW, I'm not telling you to backtrack and go through the city...just, sayin to continue east all the way to Searcy or near there, however you want to continue.

Your trip...I'm sure you will have fun either way...jes tryin to hep.

Well as I said, my lodging was made, so that's why I was heading southward. I'll make a room cancellation, re-route more of 16 (towards Searcy) in my plans...

Rev1, now includes the full AR16 from Fayetteville to Searcy.

Thank you Mark, I owe ya a beer!
