Part of me wonders why this offer couldn't show up, say next March when I could would buy it.

The other part of my wonders why 42 miles dropped the price nearly $4k. That is almost $1k for every 10 miles.

That's fly 'n buy price right there.

I saw that too. That those miles, it is most likely a dealer demo. I believe Yamaha gives a considerable discount to have a bike as a demo so the dealer cannot sell it until the agreed to time - a month or more - has lapsed.

This fall the bank will be buying me a new roof which will require one side of the house to be resided and a new 3 season front porch to replace the one that has given up to time and water infiltration. Next spring I hope to bring in a motorcycle that is younger than my 100k mile '04, and do it without involving a bank. The hou$e can't wait.

Besides, I'll probably be spending 1,500 to 2,000 miles on a K1600 in CA during this October, who knows, unlike the last one, I might like this BMW.

I hope that the CT FJR finds a good home. Sniff.

I wouldn't buy a K1600 if you paid me. Too many folks I know go out on a trip on one, and they come back but the bike doesn't............

I just spent 5 days straight with a vary large group of K16 owners in Minneapolis, made friends with many, and spent a lot of nightly diners shoot'n the BS w them. The topic came up a few times. Funny thing, none of us guys have never even had a hiccup with ours. Premo. Must be we know how to ride 'em!

Maybe it is not the norm but I only know two people personally that own (ed) the bike. One, after the third road going failure in which he and his wife were stranded and had to buy air tix at great expense to continue their trip punted the bike and bought a brand new GSA.

The other, beemerdons, returned from a trip to Texas while his K1600 stayed there. That is secondhand info so not sure about it's accuracy and not sure he publicly admitted to it either.

That is enough for me. Oh, and then the price tag.

Didn't Don like (almost) total his K16 on his first outing with it? That was the rumor at MOA anyway.

I totally agree on the price thing. No argument on that one. yikes! but, I'm more happy with it than any other powersport thing I've ever owned. Maybe like10 fold!

Mi Amigo SkooterG is correct, Mi Sobrino (Nephew) Enrique and his muy bonita Esposa Dawn (HAWT Canuckistani mujere from Quebec) said enough is enough and sold theirs!

Now he owns a blue and white R1200GS Adventure that's so totally GHEY that Ricky Martin or Elton John would not ride it. Each day in Moab last April, el Pendejo washed it!

My 1600GT is now on its 3rd water pump, supposedly I now have the new/improved part number. Rode back to MotoGP in Austin with other K16's, mine **** the water pump bed!

I love riding my K1600GT more than any street motorcycle I've ever owned, goes all the way back to March of 1963. But I don't recommend a K16, unless you have other motos!

Well I got the toyz, so I guess I'm covered. Also having a '14 with (supposedly) the bugs worked out I'm fairly confident I'm not switching teams anytime soon. Well maybe... Like If Mercedes makes a bike, I might shuffle off on one of those. Da stink'n German's again however!

Back on topic....

(as I chant to myself)

Man - I want that motorcycle - and I want it right friggin now!

Might just be a demo bike. Give the dealer a call and verify. I find it odd that nobody has jumped on the deal...yet.

***************************************************************************************************************************

EDIT- here's what the dealer says about the bike-

"The bike is perfect. Customer bought the machine and didnt want it. He buys several bikes a year from me. Was titled and originally purchased here. "
