Yet another EOM ride report

I'm finally off to my 3rd EOM.. life gets busy and I haven't been on a road trip since June..

just me on the road singin "On the road again"....

Because it's such a short distance to the EOM I opted to take a couple short cuts...

Rt. 129 from Robbinsville up to Deal's Gap is one on my favorite rides....

Taking the required picture from the overlook...

I continued on the loop around to the Cherohala....

Rt.360 from Rt.411 to Telico Plains is another one of my favorite rides...

The sky looked clearer.. the clouds whiter.. the water bluer.... a fine day to ride

I stopped in Telico Plains for what I can the basic gas station lunch

Then up on the Cherohala...

Made it to MV at 5:15pm ... made a beer run.. had dinner with some new friends and setttled in...

Friday morning found Majicmaker and myself heading out to places of interest..

started with Walmart to get forgotton items ... like a toothbush....

We rode rt.19 almost to Asheville and headed up to the Blue Ridge...

I think we were there .. Couldn't really see anything...

We stopped at the Pisgah Inn for lunch... and still couldn't see anything...

There was more to see in the parking lot.... a little eye candy...

and then my camera battery died... switched to the phone...

the fog began to lift and we could see farther...

Around 1:45pm we finally saw some blue sky....

Had some rock climbing girls at the highest point...

Got back to MV and snapped some random shots... Couples riding....

I found this behind the Tiki Bar... I love 34's....

After dinner was the Friday night social...

Saturday morning found me lined up with 4 other riders and ready to roll...

It turned out they were headed to the BRP... good grief.. I was there yesterday...

so I just headed out "Lone Wolf"...

Soon I was cruising through the sleepy little town of Bryson City headed to the road to nowhere..

This nice tunnel is the end of nowhere.. only woods on the other side...

I caught Rt.28 south to Franklin...

Thats a fun road.. and stopped for a gas station lunch...

I rode rt.64 east to Highlands stopping at Dry Falls and doing a drive through a Bridal Falls...

and Bridal Falls...

I followed rt.64 through Highlands to Cashiers...

I stopped for a break.. only enough shade for 1 bike...

Was the totally worse, nasty bathroom ever in a gas station...

I bearly made it out without heaving....

I went north on rt.107 to Sylva... there are no bad roads in NC...

and arrived at MV Inn at 4:15pm... nice 266 mile loop...

Looks like the evening social started a little early...

Gathering for the offical group picture....

and off to the banquet...

Wayne doing his thing... and very well at that...

I forgot the food **** shot... kinda late here...

and off to the Saturday night social...

Had to get my picture so I could prove I was there... sporting my new hat and ears??

and Sunday through the Nantahala Gorge and home....

Riding with Calimus and his bride...

and a good time was had by all... till next year...

No doubt it was a great time in Maggie Valley this year, I had a ball. Excellent pictures of both the country side and the good FJR peeps, thanks for posting.
