I'm hooking up my PCIII and I want to disconnect the O2 plug on my '07. It doesn't appear to match the '03-'05 models as posted on FJRTech.com. I don't have a black two-wire connector on the right side under the tank as the pictures show... I only have a 3 wire white connector there. Anybody have some pictures of this plug on an '07 or can describe the location? (Yes, I searched - I know it's Friday, but lets keep it constructive, I want to get this done).

Thanks,

Same area, different connector. As I recall, the Gen-II O2 sensor is a 4-wire heated version.

I'm partially colorblind, so I just followed the wires from the sensor itself which is easily located on the right side of the exhaust system, up to the connector.

I forgot to mention...

I would highly recommend covering the exposed connectors with some tape or something. It gets pretty dirty up there and you might want to re-use that sensor someday. Plus you definitely don't want to risk having the ECU get any stray signals from the connector striking metal objects while vibrating.

On my 07 is a small black connector with three wires on the right side under the tank near the seat. Just go to the O2 sensor on the exhaust on the right side, pull back the shroud of wires and see what color the wires are. You will find a small connector with the same shroud covering the wires on the same side under the tank near the seat.

Hope that helped

The Gen II FJR has 2 02 sensors; 1 in the airbox (as described by Slappy above), the other on the exhaust (as described by HaulinAshe, though the cable contains 2 black wires, 1 blue wire and 1 white wire IIRC. The connector is located behind the fuel rail on the right hand side of the bike). For the PCIII install, disconnect the 02 sensor on the exhaust, not the sensor on the airbox.

Hey sockmonkey, when I pull the cable I disconnected it pulls the wires at the exhaust not to the airbox.

Me and reading comprehension are not one with the universe today... ;) For whatever reason my brain translated what you wrote as "behind the tank under the seat". I owe you a beer. :drinks:

Nevertheless, it's still a 4 wire cable harness; 2 black leads, 1 blue, 1 white (I just double checked to make sure...) with a heat-resistant, shiny black shroud.

Thanks all for the quick reply. I'll take a picture for others to see and post it soon. I know there were quite a few who purchased the PCIII on the group buy.

UPDATE: Here are some pics of the connector and sensor. I was starting to read into your posts too much. I though you guys were saying that both sensors (airbox and exhaust) were incorporated into that one connector. I looked at the exhaust sensor and it does have the same 4 wires on that (as indicated above):

1 Blue

2 Black

1 White

As also previously mentioned, its behind the fuel rail on the right side.

Here's the O2 sensor on the right side just on the aft portion of the engine mounted on the exhaust.

On a side note to this,

If you think you might ever re-use your 02 sensor... Remove the sensor completely from the exhaust and put a 18mm plug in the 02 bung. A 02 sensor is not designed to withstand the extreme exhaust heat cycles when not powered up. The sensing portion will "burn up" over time if not powered up.

Thanks WW. I'll take a look at getting a plug.
