Kay and I rode from Bakersfield down to Ojai for a BMS Ride-In appointment to get a new Dual Saddle. Managed to avoid getting rained on, but Hwy 33 was pretty chilly both ways! The guys crafted both seats to our liking. Took two test rides before getting everything tweaked just right. Opted for the vinyl basket-weave material.

As we were suiting up to leave, Rocky informed us that ours was the first FJR to receive their new Evolution Saddle. Apparently they've modified the wing feature, making it somewhat more pronounced than previously.

Still need to break-in the seat, but the ride back home was much more comfortable! I'm pretty happy with it!

Your saddle looks very different than my Bill Mayer saddle -

very interested in your opinions of the saddle after you have 2 or 3k on it..

- can you still move around with the wings when playing repli-racer?

- do the wings really help? (oh boy some forum homies are going to have fun with that question)

Congrats!

HTRJ, congrats on a very nice seat indeed. IMO you have selected one of the best seats on the market today and I really like the style you selected. I also like the way the boys at BM incorperate the front of the back seat as a backrest for the front seat, very nice design. And unless you are doing track days or are a super aggressive rider the wings on these seats will never get in your way. They will only add the needed width to help support your behind and insure a more comfortable ride. I turned my stock FJR seat into almost the exact shape you now have and plan on redoing it again if I can get the time needed. This will be the fourth redo. I have used 5 different types of foam on the original build and next round will probally use 8 or 9 depending on how I do it. It's hard to believe the comfort level between the stock seat and a new custom. The best farkle by far anyone could make. Your rears will forever thank you and you will now be able to just keep going and going and ...... :pig_ball: PM. <>< :yahoo:

I'm interested to hear your opinion after a couple of thousand miles with the seat. I've had mine for about 2yrs, on an '03. During the ride home from Ojai, I was convinced that I'd wasted my money because my butt was still sore. A few months later, I realized that I'd forgotten about the seat altogether. It was just 'there'. Since then, I've done several 500+ mile days and the seat was just as comfortable at the end as it was at the beginning.

Man, he's been anti seams for ever! Now, he's added them? Time for a visit to see Rocky and see what's up. Enjoy that seat. Mine simply is the cushiest!
