12V Barrier Power Strip Install

I am going to install the 12V power strip. I want in under the seat as almost all of my goodies are going either there, or near there. Has anyone else done this yet? Pics?

I have no pictures, but I had a 6-fuse block there on the Concours and on the '04. It'll fit in the toolkit tray, no problem. I've seen others in the same location.

I don't have a barrier strip under my seat, I have a Blue Sea 6 gang fuse block in there. I wanted a location for pos and neg connections. On my old FJR, I used a barrier strip near the battery for pos and a special ground terminal that screwed down to the neg bat terminal allowing 4 spade connections. It all worked great, but I like the Blue Sea under the Corbin seat much better.



I have a couple 5 volt items that I chose not to run direct to the fuse block. I have a SAE plugwired to the fuse block and a dual socket adapter with a SAE plug attached to that. Those cig sockets are bundled up and rubber strapped down in the tool pack hold down. Note that there is an extra SAE plug there that I pull out from under the seat for my Widders.

I have a Blue Sea under the passenger seat. Do a search on "Blue Sea" and "Centech." Probably find lotsa piccies there.

FJRocket, thats a real nice installation. I used the old Blue Sea model that required a separate ground bar. This looks like the one that has the built in ground bar. It can be purchased at www. whitehorsegear.com for $24.95.

Be careful when drilling for hold down screws in that area...the main computer is under there. I came REAL close to being able to say, "Don't ask me how I know".

No drilling required on my install. The computer hold down strap holds the Blue Sea ST model 5025 fuse block. It does in fact have 6 gangs each for pos and neg. Also has a Lexan cover. Sits under my Corbin without ANY modifications what-so-ever. If I wasn't putting an Autocom back in the tail, the Blue Sea fuse block might go farther back. If I didn't want easy access to it, I'd probably move it down inside near the other AE computers. I think there's room down in there somewhere. But it's a non issue.

I started with it under my seat and moved it. Most of the runs stay up in the fairing area. Why pull all those wires through the engine compartment when you don't have to? I moved it up front. The whole process is documented here:
