installing an ap-1 centec behind glove box.

would like it to be switched on when bike is on, and off when bike is off.

need help identifying what wires I should tap into to trigger the relay (have a modulator on front head lights)

I hope others will confirm this, it's been awhile since I did mine.

If you tap into the green w/ blue stripe wire for the headlight relay,

located above the left headlight and behind the tach,

you will have switched power for your relay that is only "on"

after the engine is started. Always full power for start-up.

I did a similar install on my 06, seems like an ideal location

for the AP-1, leaving room elsewhere for other items.

I put a relay on the blue wire to the front turn signal and connected battery through a fuse and the relay to a terminal strip placed behind the battery, and another strip under the seat. On when key is on.

Tapping off the headlight circuit like the above post leaves everything off until the engine's running.

pulled turn signal wires,

If blue wire is used to power relay switch will the black turn signal wire provide a sufficient ground?

I grounded the relay at the battery. I mounted it on one of the screws that holds the headlight assembly on, so the run was very short. You don't need a large gauge wire on the relay coil, but if you're gonna have any load on the switched circuit, put an inline fuse of 20 or 30 amps in there and some wire at least as big as other stuff you see running around under there.

Grounding just the relay on the black wire at the lights is probably fine, but not "best practice."

I will use the auto retract jumper for power and run the ground to the battery.

Just finishing up a tire change that turned into a full service session: tire change(pirelli), oil & filter change, flushed coolant system, changed clutch & brake fluid, installed breakaway throttle lock, lubed splines, changed drive shaft oil, synchronized throttle bodies, still working on installing the centech ap-1 fuse panel, fjr dash shelf and then get plastic back on.

Thanks for the help.

Installed stebel magnum blasters over a year ago.

Just found what I think are 2 wire from original horn set up, pink and tan on right side, not conected to anything.

They have current when key is turned on, can I use one of these to trigger relay?

Can anyone else confirm this?

UPDATE: This is actually a blue wire with green strips.
