Does anyone have a set of these Core Heat Heated Gloves with Portable Battery from gerbing, and if so.. how do you like them? Have you used them on the bike? Seriously considering picking up a pair at the local cycle shop here.

clicky

I had an older pair that used a 9 volt battery. They would last about 5 hours. I got tired of buying extra batterys. Now have the plugin style and very happy.

FYI, Gerbing is looking at making a leather version of these gloves!!!!

web bike world tests a lot of stuff like this, might check in there - www.webbikeworld.com

I tried a pair of the Gerbings gloves and the jacket with the dual Gerbing controller for the last two days on a 40min commute at 16F.

I was a bit underwhelmed with the amount of heat the gloves produced (jacket was quite nice) when set to max heat on the controller and hooked to the bike's power, so at 9V I doubt riding in very cold WX would be possible for very long.

I had a pair of battery-heated socks from a hunting store and also got real tired of buying batteries.

Zorlac - I just plain can not turn the heat up all the way on my Gerbing glove liners. I literally had mild burns from the time that I tried it and thought I was just imagining that I had hot spots on my hands.

Since the batteries are rechargeable I don't think I will have to buy replacements for some time. I can get the optional charger for the aux powerpoint. I'll stop by the local dealer and see if I can test them out for a few days. If not I may just go ahead and buy the gloves. They have a 30 day return policy on the gear, and that should be more than enough time to see if I like them and they work properly.

Maybe so for the liners, but the actual Thinsulate insulated gloves don't get hot enough for me.

I made electric glove liners and a homebrew controller that worked like your liners.

I think the pot should be adjustable from off to painful so that at 10 degrees, when my fingers are cold from not wearing the gloves for a few minutes and the gloves themselves have cooled off, I can put them on, crank it up, thaw out my digits, back off on the heat and ride.

JMHO.
