Pictures of my '04 FJR1300 being assembled on 7/26/03 This is how the crate and packaging arrives at the dealer. My FJR was purchased and assembled at Freedom Cycle in Concord, NH. I received a great deal and great service!

Oh, is that ABS I see on the front wheel? Wish I had the opportunity to see mine in the crate. I didn't actually see it until it was ready to go. The dealer was displaying it prominently in their showroom for others to look at while waiting for me to come and get it. It only waited there one day. He kept saying that they don't sell an FJR every day.

Aye, ‘tis indeedie ABS! The giveaway is the silver caliper inserts for ABS and blue caliper inserts for non-ABS regardless of year.

You can practice emergency braking but you can’t practice panic braking. I have taken advantage of having ABS, dunno if I HAD to have ABS to get out of a couple of unexpected adventures. ABS lets me just wail on the brakes while concentrating on the developing situation going on around me. Sometimes ABS prevents a situation from arising in the first place – such as paint stripes in the rain and unexpected sand. Awareness and vigilance can’t always make up for some of the dumb ***** and unpredictable circumstances. I have raced for years, I practice my riding and driving but still like having emergency backup.
