I'm just starting to look at ways to expand the bike lighting profile as viewed from the rear of the bike. I dont like sitting at stop lights etc watching traffic drive up my hind side......

What kind of mods if any has anyone done?

Has anyone done a mod that would add led running lights to the back of the bags with a quick disconnect? I did this on my cruiser and it worked well and looked good too.

Thanks

RR

I did the Signal Dynamics license plate frame with LED park, stop, and turn signals all in one, and my wife said the back end (of the bike) was much more noticable.

Hyper lights are next though, they have a much brighter output and are attention grabbers.

Like you, I'm also looking to install some kind of lights onto the bags. Using a quick disconnect that will seperate easily if I was to forget to disconnect while removing the bag, but weather proof for the not so nice days. I'd like to see what the Givi top case with the intergrated lights use.

If I find anything promising I'll PM you.

Kevin

Semi running lights (very bright) hooked up into an LED Backoff unit. People tell me it's annoying as hell to be behind me :p

Silent,
Looks nice. Clean and effective. Did you fab everything?
I'm a machinest, so I did fab everything but the lights. Painted the mount black so it's invisible on the bike.

Where did you get the lights? Cost?
Picked up a set of 4 from a TA truck stop outside Stockton for $9.95 I think it was.

I installed Hyperlites on my '08 as well. I put 'em on the bracket that came with my Helmet Guardian locks.

Works like a champ and they're REALLY visible.

I've got Hyper-Lites on my '08. Very easy install and very bright! :clapping:
Thanks for the feedback. Since Im replacing a damaged hard bag, I will use the old for some prototype work and keep this posted.

Ill take a look at signal dynamics and keep upgrades posted. Thanks

I got a couple saddlebag spoiler LEDs from Harley Davidson and mounted them to each saddlebag using quick disconnects. Used for running/brake lights. After trying different means of attachment I cut into the bags to mount them.
