I picked up a pro model changer 2nd hand that was only a few months old (got a killer deal). I was looking to get a new one anyway when the money was right and lucked out on this one.

Anyway. I broke it on my first change. Specifically, I snapped the 1/2 inch steel rod that holds the pivot head in place for a mount/demount.

I called No-Mar and they shipped out the replacement part the same day. I went to install it and found out they had changed the design on this part for this changer. In other words the replacement part did not fit. I called NoMar again and described the differences in the broken part and recieved part. (this is how I learned of the re-design). Again same day shipping on a replacement part. N/C.

This is all special because their warranty is only to the original purchaser, of which, I am not. But they did it anyway!!!!

They get two thumbs way up!

We have one of these in the Formula Car lab, and the students have used it to mount countless tires for our various cars. One of the students who is a former Suzuki tech says he likes the Coates better, but everyone else is happy with the NoMar. The Formula Car tires are a lot harder to mount than motorcycle tires (smaller diameter wheel with greater tire width), but it works very well.... for motorcycle tires its very smooth and simple. We like it.

Got my nomar Jr pro 3 weeks ago and my son and I have changed out 5 tires so far. While it's not as easy for the rookie as the videos indicate, we have been getting better with each change. I still don't see how it's a 1 person job IMHO.

Ok so if you don't know, I had a group buy here on these a few months back. Last week I finally tried to use the tire changer to install a new rear Road Smart tire. After 5 hour and alot of cursing :dribble: I finally nstalled it. It was not a pretty site and I really had to stretch the tire to get it to mount. Granted I'm new to this whole tire changing thing and was following No-Mar's Gold Wing Install video. So I called Seth at No-Mar to ask why this was so hard to do and he said I was using the wrong technique, I'm suppose to use the BMW K-12 video technique which uses the mount-demount bar only and not the spoons. I'm thinking OK next time hopefully it will be much easier.

After few days one of my students said hey it looks like your rear tire is low. Sure enough it was only at 19 PSI and it had slipped 12" on the rim. :angry2: I added air and it held and the balance still seem to be good. To be on safe side a few days later I'm checking the tire out once again and I notice a big bubble on the side. Sure enough I screwed up the bead when I installed it, so I destroyed a $140.00 tire!!!! I order a new tire and in the mean time I take the rim off the bike to practice mounting & dismounting with the bad tire. I'm now using the K-12 technique AND I still can't get the tire back on the rim without using major force. Now I'm starting to get upset. Once again I call No-Mar, Seth is on vacation, so I'm talking to the owner Steve. Well he say's your technique is still wrong, if I came out there I could show you how to do in a minute. :glare: Well I'm thinking he's being smart with me, but he was serious. HE FLEW ALL THE WAY FROM ST LOUIS JUST TO SHOW ME HOW TO USE THE CHANGER!!! :clapping: I still can't believe it. Steve spent a couple hours with me today and now I can get the tire on off without any problems. Yes it is all technique!

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT NO-MAR HAS EXCELLENT SERVICE, AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, AND REALLY TAKES CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMER.

No-Mar has a great product and fantastic customer service. I've had one for a few months and have had zero problems getting the tires on and off in about 45 minutes and I'm getting better each time

Holy Guacamole, Batman.

I bought a mount/demount bar a couple of months ago on the tail end of your group buy. I've done two tires with it and it did get a bit easier the second time around. I'm thrilled. You can bet your sweet patootie I'm gonna point folks toward NoMar and this post in the future. I know you hosted the group buy but that's still some SERIOUS customer service.

Maybe there's hope for our species after all. Way to go Steve!!!

I've had my Jr. Pro for about two years now, and like most of you, the first few changes were miserable. I *knew* that I was the problem, I just didn't know what I was doing wrong.

After watching the video countless times, it finally sunk in. I've now changed more than 40 tires. Every now and then I still have a few struggles, but if I "go back to basics" I can usually figure out what's wrong and the tire will go right on.

Last summer I bought the off-road/knobby tire clamp set. Though not perfect, they take an absolutely miserable job and make it tollerable.

Steve and his team are 1st rate! He's always just a phone call away.
