While it may be dull... I am thinking this kind of bike will have a market with inexperienced riders, and possibly those small in stature. Not everybody wants or needs a rip snortin', fire breathing, super sport touring machine. (I do, but that's beside the point)

Waiting to learn more about it, but from an optimistic perspective, I kinda agree with Fred. Many times here, we've asked what we might come up with as a smaller, lighter sport touring bike for those for whom an FJR or a Connie or a ST are just too much.

That just might be the perfect bike for my wife. The FJR is too much for her to handle, and she doesn't like the sport bikes or the taller dual sports. The price seems a little high to me.

But this bike does fill a rather "unique" position in the market. I would say the Deauville is a slightly less ugly version of the Pacific Coast 800. And that now has a cult following.
