On the FJR, when you open the side vents what does that do? Does it make the passenger warmer, cooler; does it make the bike cooler?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I want to move to Theory...everything works there. As the theory goes, if the vents are out more warm air is allowed to reach the riders legs. Vents in, blocks the warm air and sends it away from the rider. So...vents out for winter and vents in for summer. FWIW I can't tell any difference on my '06 when in full gear and moving at speed...

Finally! Someone actually gets it!! :yahoo:Wht do the side vents really do?
They fill a marketing VOID and provide bullet points for shiny marketing material.
Yeah, this may be one of those things where it's all relative.I just rode 350 miles in 75+ degree weather...and I tried the vents both opened and closed. I felt significant more heat with the vents out.
That is as it should be. With the mid cowling air dams (aka "vents") open, you lose any cooling effect as airflow is directed out and away from the rider's legs and thighs.I just rode 350 miles in 75+ degree weather...and I tried the vents both opened and closed. I felt significant more heat with the vents out.
Dammit! I'm not letting this go..! But I am kind of interested in those FJR ridin' blind twins. Particularly if they look like this:I think we need a double-blind scientific study done on this to reach a statistically accurate determination...
But were are we gonna find blind twins that ride FJRs?
I don't think those girls are twins and they sure don't look to be blind, but my momma told me that I'd go blind if I looked at pichures of scantily clad wimmens like that one. :dribble:Dammit!
