Going to work this morning I was merging from a cross-over bridge onto I-25. Right were it merges into the highway the two entrance lanes merge into one, then merge onto I-25. So I get into the left entrance lane cuz the right one is fazing out when a cager flies past me on the right and then comes into my lane. There was already a car in front of me and behind me was open...but he has to have that 8 feet of empty space in front of me. So I hit the brake and then roll off onto I-25. As I pass him I blow my Fiamm horns at him and then move on down the road. He then speeds up and comes right up on my rear... there's little traffic on 3 lanes of highway so this is intentional. I look in my mirror and he is about 2 feet from my tires. I touch the brakes to back him off and he then comes besides me and tries to knock me off the road!!!!

But he won't go away. He flips my off and laughs and keeps trying to ram me on the side. He tried about 3x to hit my bike!!! If I was on a cruiser I'd be doomed... luckly my fjr is agile.

So I got behind him and followed his *** to his apt parking lot. I calmed myself down and of course left my helmet on.... then in a quiet but firm voice tell the guy he could've killed me. He said he didn't care. I said you could've killed someone else. He said he didn't care. I said the next time you do that to a biker he's gonna have a gun and pop a cap in your ***... He said he didn't care. I drove away and circled the block. The guy moved his gay-*** volkswagen bug down the block but I still found it.

I called the 5-0 and an officer showed up later. I gave him a report but he said without 2 witnesses he can't provide a police report for road rage on the guy. I showed him the guys car and he said he'd go talk to him.

I wish there were enough bikers I knew here in Denver that could roll up on him and let him know he can't bully people around. For you who live in Denver watch out for a moron in a gay-*** light blue late model volkswagen bug that is parked downtown between 23rd & 24th, Larimer & Lawrence. I thought about posting his license plate but realized the moderator may delete it.

It sucks I'm the one being harmed and yet I don't want to do anything outside of legal parameters cuz it just ain't worth going to jail over.

Must be the day for it;

I was following a guy this morning who seemed to be half asleep or drunk, weaving all over the road @ 80+ mph & shaking his fist anyone who slowed him down.

The funny part was his bumper sticker that read;

"My other vehicle is Prayer".

:huh:

I'm not saying you shouldn't be pissed, but don't bother to confront someone like that.

Remember this thread. clicky

Again, I'm not trying to condone your actions, but be careful out there. People are F*ing stupid. Confronting them won't make them less stupid........ It could however, put you in danger.

Its quite hard to not engage those who mess with us on the road. I've had a few occassions where I did something stupid (only in a sense that you're SO vulnerable on a bike) and 'fought back' while riding with my horn, the finger, the fist, tailgating and such. Obviously its just best to disengage and get the hell away from such a person ASAP. Here in Washington, we have these road rage hotlines you can call and report such an incident. They don't seem to require other witnesses so I'm not sure Colorado's deal. The guy threatened your life and there out to be a way to prosecute the *****.

Valve core removal? Brake Fluid wax job? Banana in the tailpipe?

He was driving a beetle, he's had bananas in his tailpipe before.

Was there a pretty flower on his dashboard?

That kind of **** really pisses me off, when the cops say "oh sorry, unless you get two witnesses to your attempted murder, we won't do anything". I know I'm thinking this because I'm in a REALLY bad mood today, but I'll say it anyway - I'd be tempted to slash his tires, since nobody will do a god-damned thing unless by some miracle.

Thankfully you have a great bike and were able to maneuver accordingly.

Hm..........time to start packing maybe?
Start packing? I do, but a confrontation only gets someone killed, and then you have to prove you didn't escalate it. And you did by following him and confronting. Oh, and he could have a weapon too, and instead of you being dead because he run you off the road you are dead because he shot you. Better to get a license plate number and discription of the car and person driving and pass it on to the boys in blue. I was a LEO for many years and I'm telling you it's not worth it unless you are, at that instant, protecting yourself or someone else from being killed and you have no other choise.

But hey, without an additional witness, he won't be able to do **** to you, either.

Yeah - it's simply not worth it. Chalk it up to just another crazy person out there and move on with your life.

Don't ever follow someone home like that. You shouldn't have ever passed him that was the first mistake! Just let his gay *** stay in front of you so you can control the situation, people can always catch up and pass, but hardly anyone would slow down to get you back in front of them. I have the state police on speed dial. So if that happens to me, I stay far enough behind him to be safe, but I can be on the phone with Leo, and guide them to my location on the highway. You'd be surprised how other people will stop when there is a trooper there to be witnesses.

Besides the guy will likely be so out of control angry that he is getting pulled over, it will be easy to convince the trooper of what he did.

But beware the guy won't forget you or your bike, and he may be in a different car next time. Payback is a ***** as they say.

I have done this before, and you'd be surprised how fast they will get a car to your location to help, especially if you say he tried to kill you. I can talk on the phone with Bluetooth through my starcom. And its the best thing since sliced bread! I've reported a few drunks before like that too, and they are very happy to have someone keep an eye on the person while they are enroute. I'm not a tattle tail but I couldn't live with myself if they hurt or killed someone later and I just ignored it and did nothing!

Eagle - Thank God you're OK. You'll be riding another day. I understand your frustarion, and you really want some justice.

At least you're around to tell us about it.

Ride safe.

Stop at a hardware store and pick up one of those 2 part epoxies in a syringe. Go for a late night ride and squeeze into his locks.

At least I 'heard' that works
