Ok, ok... Little update here on header choices....

A recent thread about header comparisons got me thinking.

Please check it out:

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...115060&st=0

So what header is best for the FJR? The Holeshot? The Muzzy?

Both are great products, but they are both just as heavy as the

stock (all made out of stainless). Two separate reports, here, put the

Holeshots in at 10 and 11 lbs respectfully. The big benefit the Muzzy

and Holeshot has over the stock is that neither have any cats (for off road

racing, of course) restrictions.

So... what about a cat-less stock header (for off road racing, of course)?

DISCLAIMER: I would never condone extra pollution and of course any

type of racing on the streets... All you tree huggers please know that you

have a friend in Wicked Webby and that is why I would not do such a thing.

Just so happens that a friend of mines stock header recently returned from cat surgery...

A stock header (after surgery) weighs only 9lbs!!!

I will post a couple of pics of his weigh in below.

Thus, my vote is still for the lighter stock header, post surgery of course.

BTW, the stock header does have a crossover pipe between cylinders #2/#3 and

already has a bung for an 02 sensor. A 02 bung is very much needed when

using a wide-band 02 sensor to sniff the AFR under load, if your into tuning

your ride. Also, the stock header doesn't have any road clearance issues like

some of the Holeshot headers and Muzzy's have had. The stock header fits all

the popular slip-ons (including the Remus) without any pipe expanding.

Thumbs up to the, post surgery, stock header!!!! Free flowing and cheap!

Pickles,

Thems are looking very good. Looks like you coated the mid pipes from the header too.

I was thinking about that hi temp black on my Remus mid pipes and the header alike.

Nice!!

Damn! No wonder the only beverage had around was that zero calorie carbonated speed in a can!

And, I see why you waited until after I left before steppin' on the ol' scale! I would have split a side laughing!

That upper body strength prolly would have been used to pummel me.

Joe,

Hahahahahaha!!! Thats funny!!!

Got to give credit where credit is due....

You have some good educated weight guesses....

You picked up the header and said, " Bout eight pounds."

Should of had you pick me up... Least, then you wouldn't

of been surprized by the scale.

Take er easy,
