Finishing a project that started about the time my mom died and my dad's care became a full time job.

12x30ft garage addition that I somehow have to figure out how it's going to be an "addition" to my house, not a stand alone garage, or I'll be in contravention on local building codes. Somehow the attaching piece has to house the conduit for the sub-panel too...

Details, details...

Eventually there'll be a workbench at the end (under the window), full wiring, heat and insulation etc etc etc...

Ok, now to the real question...

How many bikes w/associated gear can I get in here?

Existing east end of the house and new garage:

I'm glad you're getting busy on the project again, and it looks great. :good:
Thanks, so are my neighbours...*L* I think they were getting a bit testy with dirt piles and Tyvek as a daily viewpoint.

If you stack them in there like cord wood, probably 10-12 at least. However, speaking from experience (7 bikes, three cages), I'd advise that you set them up, set them up such that you can get to them without doing the "bike shuffle" every time. Just enough to be able to access them easily so you can take them ALL for a spin when needed.

Otherwise.....tooo many batteries

Looks great Barb! I think a dual-sport, a sport bike, Sport-tourer, standard, cruiser, long-haul tourer, and one other "great deal I couldn't pass up" bike = 7. Do what I do and leave the cages outside to rust.

I'm envious! A blank slate looks so cool! Don't forget lots of pegboard and storage doodads to keep stuff off the floor. Don't forget space for a tire changer, bank of battery chargers, etc. etc.

damn, Barb, I'm jealous, envious, and green

but why didn't you close in the door end and make the outside wall one or more big hanger doors with hydraulic controls... ???

just sayin'

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

4!

FJR, FZ-6, TW-200 and God-knows-what-else.......a visitor's bike?

That would leave you room to maneuver each of them out of the garage and also leave room near the workbench for the motorcycle lift for maintenance and the air compressor.

You could get a tire machine that slips into the receiver hitch on the car so you only need room to store it, not operate it.

Run the wiring for the 110v plugs along the wall. The PVC pipe for the air compressor can be run along the sill plate with 2 outlets on each side of the garage for easy tire inflation.

I mean....as long as you asked for advice.....

Hmmmmm....where are we going to stay if we show up to shovel rock? I suppose one could plan to ride the V-strom home....oversize windshiled, top case and all! ;)

Congrats. That's what I call "slabbin' it". Nice place to farkle and wait out the periods of less usefull weather.

Nice work, could fit more bikes without all the junk in there... :)

I say ten bikes.

And I'll start the bidding for the V-Strom at $50. That's $50...U.S. cash money.

$60 if it comes with the previously mentioned plants.

Wow man. You could grow like 100 plants in that thing.
I was eating leftover fried rice and now it's all over my screen and keyboard. Way to go old man... ROFL

Barb -- Hydroponics :assassin: sssshhhhh

And use a generator so they don't see the spike in electricity use for the grow lights......
