I didn't have enough time to meet the guys in the mourning so I was going to try to meet them at the Campo Diner. It was a last minute decision on my part and I was unaware that there plans had changed and that they had lunch elsewhere.I did my own abbreviated ride. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

My first stop was at Southern Ca. Ducati Triumph & Victory in Brea. They were having an open house, its close to my house and I know the people there.

I froze my ass off on the I8 and was happy to arrive at the Campo Diner

I ordered a double burger with Chile and cheese with no bun - trying to watch carbs.

After lunch I took old hwy 80 to Julian and froze my ass off some more. There is a reason why there is snow in this picture. It was frickin cold! I'm guessing mid 30's

Once I made it to Julian it was a little warmer and I had a cup of hot apple cider.

In search of warmer weather, I headed to Ocotillo Wells

. This is a picture of the Iron Door Saloon. I used to go desert riding here and we would always stop here. Good memories.

At first I was thinking, 'why didn't you call me about this ride you motherf*$!er?!?!?!', but after seeing those photos I am glad you didn't. Funny, I rode through those same parts a couple weeks ago and while it was cool, it sure wasn't snowy and cold! Better you than me my friend.

It's April for crying out loud, what's up with that weather?

Call Al Gore and tell him to turn that Global Warming back on. Your bastard step pappy was bragging about hanging by the pool when we were mushing through 10ft snowbanks barefoot and uphill in both directions just a little while ago.

Where's your Waaaaaaabulance. Just put on a dress and be done with it. Your bastard step pappy told me you look good in an evening gown. :p

Just one thing. You're not going to get much sympathy with that thread title--which includes both the words "freezing" and "San Diego"--from our more weather-challenged friends around here. Some of them are still trying to dig out.

Or with pics like this one in your report. (Otherwise, nice RR.)

Steve, you keep eatin' that stuff, and I'm sure you'll grow another one.

Man, that snow looks damn scary. It was all over the bushes and rocks, and there was some on that hill out there, too.

But, you carried on. And for that................I salute you.

Great food porn Steve.

What's up with Tom's hair? Is it in a ponytail or did he cut it? I used to hit Knolwoods for the Rat club (the Triumph guys) meetings. I won some stuff on the raffle, fun times, met some great folks there too. I use to ride my 1965 Triumph T100SR there for the meetings. ;)
