It's about freakin' time! Gotta go get it loaded up and see if I can get my Android phone to dial out by voice.

The unit now speaks to you. Confirming connections to various devices, etc. Maybe I am wrong, but music seems even louder through my ear buds. Connection to my Droid X is about 2 seconds after the Sena unit turns on. Good stuff.

Dammit, it still won't voice-dial an Android phone. Pushing the phone button one time does nothing (it used to redial the last number). We need to find an Android app pressing the phone button will bring up a voice-command dialer like it does on an iPhone. Anybody have any suggestions?

I can voice dial with the SMH10 on my Samsung Captivate (Galaxy) AFTER I rooted the phone.

Phone button brings up my voice command. I think my voice dialing works on my Droid. Just say "call" and say a contact name. Now I will have to try it and make sure.

Nope, pushing the Sena phone button a single time does nothing on my rooted Samsung Fascinate (Galaxy). But I solved the issue with the Cyberon Voice Speed Dial app for a whopping $2.99. It lets you record voice-tags for not only contacts but also applications. And it launches when I press the Sena phone button. So now when I say "rock and roll" it launches Pandora.

Droid thunderbolt also allows for voice dialing using the sena... push phone button once and say "call whomever" and it responds with calling whomever on mobile.

I think I'll wait a couple weeks before installing it while you all beta test it ;)

I've had terrible luck getting voice dialing to work at all on Android (it's never remotely accurate), I might pick up that app LDRydr uses.

My android (samsung epic) does voice dialing on a 50/50 basis, but as soon as I'm rolling and there's wind noise it's worthless. Thankfully the Zumo works with gloves.

Seems to be a lot of SMH10 users in here. I need to know if it will now support my setup:

Android phone BT paired to Zumo 660 for hands free calling.

Escort 9500 with 3.5mm to BT dongle like this one here.

I also have a custom set of In Ear Monitors I use, and would like to bypass the Sena Earphones, or perhaps use in conjunction using this here.

I get MP3 from the Zumo, and would like that to be Stereo. I would like to be able to make a receive calls from the phone as paired to the Zumo.

I also want the Escort to play through the Sena, stereo is not necessary.

Can this be accomplished without any wires to the helmet?

...as I see it there are only two pairings to the Sena...the Zumo, and the BT dongle. Can these be used together or is it a one or the other type deal?

It's not strictly a "one or the other" deal, but as you described it, it won't work as-is. The reason is that you can't have overlapping Bluetooth profiles. The "handsfree" profile is what's used for phone, and the "headset" profile used for music/audio. The Bluetooth dongle for the radar detector is probably also going to try to use the "headset" profile which the zumo has taken up already for MP3. Now, if you add the Sena SR10 into the mix, I think you could get it all to work (radar detector would probably have to be wired to the SR10)

I know the Sena to the Zumo is fine. And antyhing that runs to the Zumo will then run to the Sena. You can get a sena headset that will allow for in ear monitors instead of the standard speakers, so you can use your custom IEMs. I'm NOT sure about the Escort though. I don't see any way thinking about it and looking at the manual. That's the weak spot there (unless you can somehow pair THAT with your ZUMO too).

You could PROBABLY find people that have cracked open the escort and extended the LED to a more visibly spot (on the dash), and so have a visual clue. But that's probably the best bet.

Either use the Sena SR-10 and run the radar detector into it, or get a Marc Parnes Visual Alert so you can see your radar signal.

Sena also has another device in the works that looks like the SR-10 but works a bit different. It's the SM10. You can read about it HERE (but it's not out yet). The main advantage of this is to split the phone from the stereo input, like if you want to use an iPod or some other non-Bluetooth MP3 player.

Ahhh ok..the SR10...will that allow me to plug in the Escort, then pair the SR10 to the SMH10 as well as having the Zumo paired up, and have the audio play simultaneously through the SMH10?

The SR10 is HFP (mono) and the Zumo would be A2DP I assume, so no profile conflicts? (Honestly I don't NEED to talk on the phone through Zumo and pulling over to talk is just fine, and probably safer :) )

(I have this working with an autocom setup, but have a wire going to the helmet)

...so the basic concept is...jamming along to tunes in stereo via Zumo, see calls, and hear cops (mono).

SMH10 + SR10 + Ear bud adapter?

Nope. With the SR10 it takes over EVERYTHING. That is unless the recent firmware updates for both the SR10 and the SMH-10 changed that. SEE THIS for connection info. Their webpage and support are actually very good on this stuff for answering any connection-type questions. I don't use an SR10 so I have no experience with it. My only connection is to my phone. My radar I only see via my Marc Parnes device, and I don't need to hear my GPS.

For your earbuds use either the SMH-A0303 with the built-in boom mic, or the SMH-A0304 that comes with both a detachable boom mic and a wired mic that can be placed in your chinbar. Note that neither come with speakers. They have no plans to release a backing plate that allows for both speakers and earbuds (it's an impedance issue).
