Oops...used Sherri's computer and therefore I was logged on with her login rather than mine (OrangevaleFJR)

I have a couple of buddies, one that works with me, Mogens, and another his friend Thomas. Mogens is from Denmark and has lived here about 7 years. Thomas just moved over from Denmark and they met at the annual EU soccer tourny in the Bay area.

Well, Thomas has never been trout fishing in the US and so we took him up. The fishing was okay...stocker trout. They call them rainbow even though there isn't much color to them. I call them stocker peppers. See why?

We caught a few (3) and Thomas caught his first trout in the US

We then enjoyed lunch in Markleeville and I left early while they went back to fishing so that Mogens could get a few. I took 89 to 88, over Carson Pass and down Mormon Emigrant Trail to Shingle Springs to 50 and home. Very fun ride home.

The ride up was...well...cold. I have a pair of rain gloves, but they aren't great for the cold. Better than nothing I didn't freeze anything to destruction, but my fingers sure were feeling the cold...no more riding without the full set of gear with me!

Here are a few shots of the river, and 89 by Markleeville

You guys in California are having entirely tooo much fun out there....How about a little work outta ya to support the rest of the country, K? :haha:

Nice pics O'vale, I REALLY miss the left coast, and you're not helping one bit. Enjoy!

Nice pics, Andrew -- I love that section of river and road.

Now that I'm mostly done moving, and finally over this cold, we'll have to get together next time you do something like that. You took those pics 20 miles or so from my house -- and my GF works in Markleeville. Have you taken the FJR over Monitor Pass yet?

Yah, I'm a real fisherman sometimes...but this late in the year, I don't know what's hatching and what's hibernating up there. I had my fly pole and tried about 7 flies with no interest. At least I used a lure instead of bait :p

:D

see the fly pole leaning against my bike?

If not, then here:

How in the hell you could fish in a ******** of a place like that is beyond me.... wink.gif
Thank goodness 'm still considered a real fisherman! ;)

Will do Alan, I did do a ride planning report for all to see...nobody wanted to join us :(

...and...well, we go to the places available to us in the state...notice we are the only three people in the pics???That, in Cali, is rare :) Shitholes are handy for that ;) ;) ;)
