My first post! Ya hoo! :)

Remember we have a sit down dinner on Sunday at 6pm 9/18/05 at the Carriage House Restaurant BYOB.

Make sure your Sunday ride brings you back in time for dinner!

BYOB? Broads?

6 sounds kind of early for an after ride dinner. Of course I'll probably be dead asleep by 8 anyway! Try not to let me drown in my mash potatoes...

Man, that's going to be a fun weekend!

What's the itenerary Saturday night?

Anyone have en-route lunch suggestions? I've never been down there before, so any tips and hints would be greatly appreciated.

BYOB? Broads?
Hmmm

Ok

But what I meant (BYOB) was booze not flooze (BYOF).

I could only get the conference room at the hotel on Sunday night so I set up dinner early Sunday so we could go on over to the conference room afterwards to party and do the raffle thing.

We need to find a place for 60 or so to meet Saturday. Maybe someone staying at one of the campgrounds could reserve a pavillion outside so we could meet around a campfire Saturday night. If we are drinking maybe the parking lot or grounds of the hotel would be the best place to meet so we don't have wobbly FJR's flying around

Just made my reservations this week for the rally. :telephone: :lazy:

My Dad and I will be travelling all the way down from Ottawa, Canada :cold: as part of a larger trip. :atv:

Can't wait! :coolio: B) :yahoo:

PS. Love the smilies here! :D

Last year we rode thru a hurricane to get to the EOM.

Turned out to be a verry fine weekend.

Never mind the interstate washing out and the Blue ridge parkway getting closed.

There was plenty of riding for all.

Jarmo

:p

Yea Jarmo, I remember ALL to well that ride.

I must admit I my face hurt for hours from smiling under my helment whilst the group was twisting through the mountains. Can't wait to do it again. Sorry about the middle of the night departure, but I couldn't sleep. No hard feelings I hope  Jeff

Jeff

I got an early start back also.

Got to watch the sun rise while crusing thru Newfound gap ,and I had breakfast in Cherokee.

I am looking foreward to this years EOM .

:erm:

Jarvis, I cannot wait, either. Do you & Rick (04fjrpilot) have any ride plans, yet? It'd be cool to catch up with you guys.

Heidi

So far I plan to leave on Thursday and return on Monday .

The rest I will have to plan as I go.

I have reservations at Tally Hoe.

I will have fresh tires on this year---------Before I leave home!!

;)

Good idea! Don't want old tires on the EOM.

There is a small chance of a little rain so you want plenty of tread up front and if you do a lot of Blue Ridge Parkway your tires will get chewed up fast.

Is it September yet?

I tried to click on the "Discussion" area menu link on the EOM site, and this is what I got:

Perhaps that menu link could be changed to a much friendlier discussion group, like maybe... this link here

:D

Warchild,

I think Smthng, who put up that board, skipped town. I've sent him two emails requesting he change the link to here. Does anyone know how to contact Smthng? Warchild see if he answers an email from you!

Oh, and Smthng may be a little upset with you Warchild, you forgot to update your board to show the EOM :p

I am looking for the link to the gps downloads that were posted by one of the EOM participants for a couple of EOM routes. I don't remember who it was but it was posted over on the other board b4 they were attacked. The link no longer exists.

Can anyone here help me? I've got some detailed maps set up on Mapsource for my ride down & would like to get this route info, also.

HOLY COW, you gonna LUV this outing!

I just got back from a spur of the moment speed run down to The Dragon, over the Cherhola Skyway and back home again (In Indiana...

:D ) . We barely scratched the surface of that area. What a BE A U TIFUL place. And the rides/roads are fabulous. Some vistas are just breathtaking.

Leave lots of time and be sure to spend LOTS of time riding down there.

Man, that area is just AWESOME! Oh yes, I could easily get a vacay home down there. Places to use ALL kinds of toys. Ahhh.... :D

So far, any of you hoosiers planning on going part way Thursday night, or all the way Friday and want to ride together, I'm in.

Sure would like to set up rides off the known/beaten path, too. Away from the maddening crowds.

Warchild,

Smthng fixed the EOM web site so you won't be left out!

All you on the other coast are invited to this thing again too....80 people signed up so far :agent:

Big thanks to Smthng for his web site :D
