Hello All,

I have been a member of the forum for about 24 Hrs and I have already ordered 3 new Farkles for the scoot!

Been to my Local dealer asking about the Ignition and ECU recall he asked for my Vin ran it in the Computer and

said it's been done to your bike already? I don't know how confident I was about that but I'll run with it for now.

I bought the bike last week as new 07 so maybe the dealer took care of that stuff. I rode her home to Santa Clarita

By Magic Mountain. About 130 miles.

Anyways I did a half dozen searches looking for directions on the Spring Unwind Mod and I have found a lot of

discussion but no pics or basic directions. I thought I had lost my touch with the throttle control. I ordered the G2

today, took some slack out of the throttle cables and ran up to the bike shop and got a cramp buster. But this throttle

is a real pain in the neck! I took my wife for a ride last night and we did the helmet bang about a dozen times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks to all for the wealth of information on this forum!

Hey Damon - I just signed up yesterday too, and dealer also told me the switch recall had been done. Haven't found the yellow tape or punch mark yet to verify. I found some info on the spring unwind while researching the TBS mod. Try this post by Rickster.

Radman also posted great info on a throttle body sync - if you want to do that while you are in there.

OOPS - not2shabby beat me to the punch.

Thanks Dubya & Shabby I really appreciate your replies! I'm all over this project. I have got to smooth this throttle out.

I'll come back and post the results along with the G2 install also..

I'll be in the garage!

That's a great idea doing the TBS at the same time I just need to pick up the flow/vacume tool to get it done. I did see the post with instructions and it was perfect just like the one you gave me for the spring unwind.

Thanks a bunch!

I would advise you put the G2 throttle tube on and ride for a while getting that throttle broken in and loosend up. Messing with the return springs may create an unwanted effect if your going to add the G2 throttle tube....

Do one thing at a time, the throttle tube and then maybe the unwind. I haven't felt a FJR throttle with both mods done, I figure it would be a very limp returning throttle at that point.

I wouldn't touch mine with the G2 on there now, you don't want a weak throttle return that is slow to close. Break that thing in first, mine is not strong at all after 18,000 miles with the G2, which is a great farkle that I like very much. Hope you got the one with the inserts, they are nice and smooth. Hi Sage,

Ok I will take your advice and install the G2 before I unwind the throttle spring. You mentioned you hope I got the one with the inserts?

I just went to the site pulled up my model and year then placed the order. Am I missing something>? Nice smooth inserts sounds good...

I want my farkle to be as smooth as possible...

There is an optional Delrin insert available to increase smoothness. Don't know if you can get them after the fact, mine were pre-installed. I bought mine here: bikeeffects

Unwind the spring. I have done both and had no problems along with many, many other folks here. The G2 does nothing for the spring tension. It does not break in very much.

Johnny,

I'm with you that darn thing is really over the top tight! I can't believe some guy from Yamaha quality control rode that thing and said yes send them to America they are ready!

I did mine twice too much easier.....

If you get stuck you could always run down to torrance and i can show you how.

Gunny for spring mod + G2

The spring mod DOES NOT weaken the return action of the throttle. It provides relief to the rider because you do not have to fight the throttle which is fighting against the rider to return itself back to the stop.

The G2 is the cream on top. Awesome feel through the throttle now. Had to adjust the throttle cables to comepensate for the cam positioning, and to get the throttle to close quicker....but it does it all now...like a hot knife through butter. So much more confidence when I spur the horses on mid-corner.

Not sure I will need a PCIII here (Australia)...the bike is just superb.

+1 on the G2. After installing on my 07, I'd never go back.

I own a 05 and the throttle spring modification was easy. I was a little apprehensive ? If I spelled that right, at first as I had not yet pulled the tank etc. Lot of infor. I found was using google as search button on this awesome forum is somewhat crap. But not the moderators

If I the Forest Gump of FJR (s) can do it, let me tell for anyone hesitant, it's easy
