Hello fellow FJers. I’m back on the forum after 14 years. I bought an 05 new and had it farkled out just the way I wanted it, but then I sold it in 2009 after a back surgery thinking my riding days were over. The back got better, I bought a Harley in 2014 and now… I just bought a used 2006 from a friend of mine. He sold his Harley back in 06 and bought the 06 brand new shortly after taking my 05 for a spin and he was hooked! He rides easy, maintained the bike well, and it only has 17,000 miles on it. I still have the Harley, but I suspect I’ll be putting more miles on the FJR in the years to come. Just thought I’d say hello and reintroduce myself.

Congrats on your return. I had a wreck on the Cherohola messed up my left shoulder and sold all my bikes. The FJR was my first choice in my return having owned a Gen 1. I don't have a stable of bikes anymore but after 12 years I sure am glad to ride again

Welcome back from southeastern PA!
We had dirt bikes as kids we rode across fields to work on the neighborhood farms but I haven’t had a bike since I was first married 35 years ago. I plead the 5th as to riding on roads back then. 😉
Started riding legally just a few years ago at the age of 52 after raising kids and almost can’t believe it had been so long. None of us are getting any younger so I’m enjoying every opportunity to get out on my ‘14 whether it’s to work, an errand, or just to “go missing” for a few hours.
In fact, I bought this one from a gentleman on the Forum who decided he needed to give it up for health reasons.
My heart aches for guys who can no longer enjoy this simple but exhilarating pleasure of riding their “comfortable crotch rocket with storage.”
So yeah. Welcome back, friend!

Hilltown- So, I grew up in Southeastern Pa also riding around the fields and the trails by the Susquehanna River. Maytown to be exact. I still have family there and visit often. After PSU, my career took me initially to Michigan, then Ohio where I have been for the past 24 years. (Small world eh?)

Bucks County, north of Philadelphia but very much rural where we are. There are a couple forum members from neighboring Montgomery Co too but we’re only casually acquainted. I ride mostly with one other person (besides my son who took over my ‘07 FJR) and we generally stay north and west of the Lehigh Valley when we do a Sunday afternoon adventure. 😊
Susquehanna River valley is more central to the state from where we are so I’m not familiar with Maytown.
But hey! We’re all neighbors here! 👍🏼
