I still do the clean up because it's what you do to things you spend money on. But I don't rebuild it or anything. Doing it occasionally isn't a burden.

I put 45,000 miles on a Seca Turbo in 40 years. The only shaft maintenance was changing the rear pumpkin fluid on rare occasions. Yamaha knows how to build reliable shaft drives.

And BMW doesn't. Honda has had issues as well, unless maintained properly.
