    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

That reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me after coming back from traffic court. Guy got busted for smoking a joint as he went through a toll booth. He claimed innocence by saying "I couldn't have been smoking a joint, I had the wheel in one hand and a beer in the other". Yes, they...

Do you think maybe I should switch hands? :yahoo:

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

Well, it ain't crackin me up at all. I dropped 14 large on a bike that is supposed to be perfect for traveling across the country. At this point, I can barely take it across town. You did get me thinkin about the gloves though. I recently bought a new pair that are tighter. However, I've...

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

I wonder how it could be that this problem could surface and then just go away? What the hell could be happening inside the motor? I find it hard to believe this is possible. I'll see what the Yammy rep has to say and maybe have the bike serviced by the dealer if they think I have somehow...

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

Ignore it...not likely. Getting to work with your arm numb is not exactly my idea of fun...ok, going to work is not exactly my idea of fun either. But I would not be able to travel any significant distances with the bike the way it is. I'll stop riding if this is as good as it's gonna get.

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

Ok folks, here is the update. And na1g, you win the prize. After much riding today, I realized this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the suspension. This is totally engine related. At about 3800 rpm the vib begins. I got thrown off because I was only paying attention to this in 5th gear so...

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

ROFL Your tire pressure comment got me laughing. While a valid thing to check, if I brought my bike into Coleman Powersorts on a flatbed truck in pieces because a meteor from outer space (do the come from anywhere else?) demolished it the first question they would ask is "are your tire...

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

So here we go...dealer just called. "there is nothing wrong, after 21 clicks there is no adjustment being made" so they say Yamaha said. If this vibration is gonna get fixed, I suppose I'm gonna have to fix it. :angry2:

    Wicked Vibration at Right Handgrip

Yesterday while riding home from work, the bike started vibrating noticeably and about 10 miles in at 70 mph my right hand was about numb. Since the ride in was smooth I was a bit baffled. Same vibration on the way in today. I was thinking tires as the vibration seemed to be speed related but...

    Shifting Improvement

Thanks. I guess there is some sort of disconnect between my seat and the keyboard because I tried to search for a related link with no success. After reading through that, is there anyone that's changed the linkage on a Gen II bike? Didn't see that in the thread. Would I use the same part...

    Shifting Improvement

I recently took the Lee Parks Total Control class in Columbia, MD. The instructor, Tracy Martin, let me ride his '05 FJR at lunch to see how the power commander changed the throttle response. I noticed that his FJR's shifting was much crisper and faster than mine. It was almost like putting a...

It's probably a bike I should have looked at considering my relative inexperience but I'm SO glad I got the FJR. I don't use the feejers power on a regular basis but when I need it, I sure like having it. That 700 would have gotten old very fast I think.

    Motorcycle Magazines/Publications

Just got my first edition of MCN, and not a moment too soon as we are getting pounded by snow once again in the Northern VA area. First off, I like the magazine. I just read the article on the 2010 Honda NT700V ABS and I certainly appreciate the no-punches-pulled assessment. I also especially...

Lost a sidebag and its not what you think

Just did this mod. Literally took all of 20 minutes. I ordered the 18-8 Stainless Steel Locking Pin Round Retainer W/O Tab Lock, 1/4" Dia, 1-3/4" usable length and 2 5/16" overall length from McMaster Carr. I went with the 1 3/4 inch USABLE lengh version. The next smaller would not have...
