I'm sure it's been a topic in the past, but how about the speedometer? The difference between my speedo and Garmin increases with speed. 80 MPH on the speedo = about 75.5 on the Garmin. However, 140 on the speedo = 131 on the Garmin. Anyone else?

My '06's average mpg ranges from mid-thirties to low-fifties, depending on how fast it wants to go.

I'm seeking an understanding of how Yamaha factory heated grips work on an '06 FJR 1300AE. If you have one, take a shot at these. 1. Do they work on any setting with air temp. of 80 F? 2. How long does it take for them to warm up? 3. Do they provide any warmth at an idle?

The instructions that came with the kit state 50% power to the grips under 8 MPH. Unfortunately, plugging into Yamaha's system on the bike makes it difficult to troubleshoot. Is there anyone out there who made the mistake of buying Yamaha heated grips?

I would agree that Yamaha's heated grips are very pricey ($415 US). Because of a problematic set of aftermarket grips, my dealer discounted the OEM grips nearly 40%. Yamaha sure goes overboard in this kit with replacing the throttle cable housing, etc., 14 parts total. So, the installation is...
