some more thoughts about Colorado riding

I like to add some caution. We are having a growing boom here in western Colorado and Wyoming due to the Gas and Oil industry. The truckers have been dropping mud on the back roads, some clumps the size of shoe boxes or bigger. They might as well be boulders when dried. Many of them may be...

    Boy Crashes Spyderpig

Actually the reason I bought the FJR was for my sons. The only time it was dropped was when it was being parked by my oldest. Now my youngest (19 yrs), he dumped my Beemer in a corner just up the road, I think he was trying to text someone. That took some repair bending back the handlebars...

While watching the the Grass grow

Bored,,,, the rain is on the verge of slush. The mountains here are getting more snow. ( NAFO, you know it can snow in the mountains here in mid summer) I kind of argue the same crap that all here do, and most of it really doesn't matter at all. If we **** up our bikes either we sell it or...

While watching the the Grass grow

How many people here can solve problems easily? I was playing around with a new charger I got. I wanted to charge a battery that came from my wife's mini sand rail that was drained for a couple weeks. The 2 newer battery chargers will sense a good battery or one that supposedly can't be...

    Dodge pickup problem

First get an OBD ll code reader. See what it says. The dodge truck has an Idle control solenoid, maybe the problem. I mean a big MAYBE. I have chased down problems on my daughter in laws Neon. What a pain in the ass. To make a long drawn out story short. The damn neons have problems with...

The stock Air Box Funnel reduction surgery.....By WW

First off I like to thank WW for all his effort. I came to this site for just this type of info. I left other sites because I always try to improve the performance of any machine I have. I was told more than once my ideas will cause a flaming death if I do it, from the Puritans of the world...

    8000k LED

That is what I saw this morning when I was trying to find reviews on them. I like the idea of LEDs vs Burning lights, but until they are an improvement, they are just junk. Thanks.

Spring trip from Denver to Moab, UT?

We are having a late winter this year. Right now we are having thunder storms here in the valley, and thunder snow storms in the mountains. Bob

Dirt bike on top of the world.

It is really not that bad when you are riding it. The camera angle makes it look worse than it is. So far the toughest trail I have been on has been the 5 miles of hell trail on the Swell. It will kill most GS style bikes. It actually is 8 miles long, I needed a bottle of Avdil to complete the...

Gas costs got you thinking differently?

I don't think the smell will be like French fries. More like uncle Pete and old shoes. Maybe we can get a tax break for being tapped. Yes we are thinking different. Bob

Gas costs got you thinking differently?

Every time prices go up there is the same conversations. I think it is feasible to start "whaling" again for the oil. I hear they are found all over the world, even on the beaches. Shouldn't waist a good source of oil. :assassin: Bob

Spring trip from Denver to Moab, UT?

This is the best source I would use for here. Check out the cameras also. https://www.cotrip.org/ We had a lot of snow this year, some places got 200% of average. The last report said we are at about 150% of average for this time of year. The biggest problem you may run into on the passes...

I wish every bike was as easy to work on

BMW r models. Synch is on either side, valves are like the old VW/Porche rocker adjustments. Spark plugs on either side. Oil single drain bottom, oil filter on bottom, can be prefilled. Most things are simple and not worth the money the techs charge for service. Hell it is half an 1960's-1970's...

Spring trip from Denver to Moab, UT?

Playing in my backyard ,so to speak. A little suggestion. How about skipping Grand Junction when you hit highway 50, Turn right to Delta, cross the tracks and turn left (133) to Hotchkiss, Paonia etc to Carbondale and on to Glenwood hot springs. You will go over McClure Pass, and through...

    Where to look for info...

This is an old joke. But has a lot of truth to it. How are BMW and Porcupines different. The Porcupines have the pricks on the outside. I would look at any bike other than BMW, they are relying on an old reputation. Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, and others have surpassed them in quality and Value.
