Where can I get an inexpensive torque wrench

Right out of the Metrology Hand Book, Torque = force x distance from center of rotation. It is not worth it to me to try to make one. I would use an inch lb torque wrench. 8 foot lbs = 96 in lbs. 9 ft lbs = 108 in lbs. 10 ft lbs = 120 ft lbs. It should be good enough. Bob

    Retirement Calculator

My retirement plan is to open a chain of Bordellos across Nevada, then sell them as a franchise. Then in the contracts I will be the quality control officer testing the product. Just have to run it past the wife. Oh wait I just bought her another gun, NEVER MIND. Bob

Where can I get an inexpensive torque wrench

I have 4 different torque wrenches I bought from harbor freight, and one really expensive one I have had for years. I calibrated the old one myself when I work PMEL. I don't have more than $50, in the cheap ones. I just bought them on sale. A 1/4", 3/8", and two 1/2" drives. I keep a 1/2" in...

    Shinko 009 impressions

Really nice. They are calling for doubling the snow level in the mountains tonight. But I have no room for any more things. 9 motorcycles, 9 kayaks, 8 cars/ trucks, and only a 2 car garage. Bob

    Shinko 009 impressions

Shinko 009 in snow. Handling, anything other than vertical, your on your ass. Max speed attained, ah, ah, ah, so vast it did not register on speedo. Tires really are trying to find themselves. Recommend a Yamaha sled. Bob

    Handguns

Nope we are all NUTS. On the forms we fill out it asks us, are you crazy, if yes you get a gun. No move to the Great White North. Unarmed and kiss a polar bear. Bob

    Handguns

That is not a true statement. There are a couple of states where a permit is not required to carry a loaded concealed weapon. Alaska, Vermont, and New Hampshire. No permit required. Bob

    What's this hole for?

After reading this thread I didn't think anyone in this country would know what that flash to pass crap is. I would think after you pass them they would ride up your ass with the brights on. Bob

    Handguns

We can talk about oil, clothing, tires, camping, lodging, radar detectors, drinking, and Not personal protection? I still haven't shot at a target from a moving FJR like some on this forum did. Looks like fun. This is the first small bore I have bought and it seems to have more fire cutting...

    Handguns

I just purchased a Taurus 94ss4 for my wife. It is similar to her Taurus 357 mag. and she prefers a wheel gun over a semi-auto. It holds 9 shells and is just plain fun for her to shoot. A little small for my hands. Shooting is such a great family sport. Bob

    Road an '07 Today

My 06 was jet blasting heat directly on both of my ankles during the summer. After reading these threads I looked closely at where it came from and saw that the foam did not block it or even touch the fairing. I added some foam to where it blew past. It solved the heat problem. Did anyone here...

What is your favorite folding knife?

My favorite knife is a Boker Tree Brand Classic, I have had for over 20 years. It is made of 440C Solingen steel. I keep it sharp enough to shave with. It holds an edge longer than any knife I have ever owned. Its called a classic lock blade hunter Boker Bob

Any tips on Riding to/in Alaska?

Positive, I was at the Cut for the 5 days and not one plane flew in. It caused a hell of a screaming match from management all the way to the top regional bosses. But not one had the balls to override my authority and open the Airport. This happened a year after the Guard plane slammed into the...

Any tips on Riding to/in Alaska?

I would look at the Alaska Marine Highways schedule and take the "Fast ferry" from Haines or Skagway I believe it only takes about 4. Hours for the trip to Juneau to Skagway. I went back about 2 years ago, stayed 3 weeks at our friends house. Having the motorcycle in Juneau was kind of unique...

    Handguns

My preference for a personal protection is a 454 Casull. This only in the Original Freedom Arms version. Not Ruger, Taurus, Smith. My original reason for purchase was, I was living, hiking and working at remote sites all over south east Alaska. I after moving down to the lesser states had a...

    Handguns

That is a good choice for a gun down here. The short barrel is great when the perpetrator reaches to take it from her. When fired it will remove its hand. Also practice, practice, practice. I bought my wife a 357 mag 4" barrel medium frame, added Pachmayr grips and she loves it. I load it...

    build your own Heat Troller?

When you build your own and if they understand how it works, they would be much better for it. It would be worth more than the $50 they save, than to think it is all FM. If a factory unit breaks, how would you fix it on the road if you don't know anything of how it works? I have seen a home...

    Russell December Group Buy

I Received mine yesterday and I will be trying mine today if the roads aren't to icy. The mountains got dumped on, and this valley usually stays dry. I like how the seat is taller, at 6-5 it will help with the knees. Bob

Any KD Lang fans in the house?

I will not or have to support anyone who sticks their nose into my life and tells me I should stop my life style due to their perverted beliefs. I can't stand VEGETARIANS. I will not give up hunting, fishing, trapping, killing, cleaning, cooking and eating animals and their meat. I intend to...
