Thanks rbentnail. For some reason the Amazon page says these won't fit my 2007. Is that just their glitch? I have the bike in their virtual garage to check fitment.

I’m not quite understanding the use of the tool. I’m overlooking something, as I don’t see how to get by the washer on top of the spring to reach the 26mm nut. That washer appears to be a stop for the spring?

I've removed, inspected, greased and reinstalled all spiders. The connectors to the bottom of the tank were plugged in firmly and i dont see any evidence of a bad wire. What to check next?
