What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

I'm sure you will spend all next winter posting sunshine smilies.

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

Nice find Fred! That might work on the top-vent of may BSK (big steel keg), but the exhaust vent is a cruel environment for condensible oil, grease and particulate that can really gum up a vent. I wonder how well this would work under those conditions.

Ohio Rt. 555 claims another one

Those blind rises with the curves on the far-side are really tricky. I have ridden with locals that "know" the road, but my comfort zone for speed on 555 is somewhat lower than them. Deer, blind corners, driveways and debris, oh my!

I will NEVER buy a new FJR again

Somebody has to do it, or there won't be used ones.

Sierra Passes road conditions (open or closed)

Good link Mike. That really shows what still remains to be done to open the road. Amazing.

Huge Mud Slide 5/21/17 Big Sur

No worries Hud! While there is very little private ownership along that stretch, I'm sure your proposed sale should be right on par with swamp land in Florida.

Huge Mud Slide 5/21/17 Big Sur

Gorda, the town with the highest gasoline prices in the continental U.S. I wonder if they are even open?

Sierra Passes road conditions (open or closed)

The backcountry skiers are in hog heaven. Drive as far as the gates allow, and hike for turns. I don't see the passes opening for Memorial weekend this year, but no problem hoping something busts loose. Ebbetts pass is usually the first to fall, followed by Tioga and Sonora. The NPS tries...

Huge Mud Slide 5/21/17 Big Sur

The slide appears to be just north of Nacimiento Ferguson Road. You can see it as the fly-by heads south. A near miss.

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

I cook in the rain and snow all the time. I use a remote thermometer to monitor pit temperature and the cook, and only need to go out briefly to make adjustments. You don't need to sit in the rain to drink a beer and cook.

Huge Mud Slide 5/21/17 Big Sur

An immense landslide near Big Sur has changed the shape of the coastline and closed Hwy 1 indefinitely. Hwy 1 was already closed for the bridge repair, but this one is going to take a while. The slide is still active and moving. I'm not close to this, but if anyone has plans for Hwy 1, it...

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

It's hard to kill a pork butt, even when it's a shoulder. Looks good, and I bet it tasted better.

    After YFO ?

The far north latitudes are magical in June. Winter has barely left, and Spring is in full force, but daylight lasts foreever. I was amazed at the light when traveling the U.P. of Michigan and the northern shores at this time of year. Wish I was traveling your route...unless you're stopping...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Draco, those tires look like the take-offs I put back on. Where you going?

    Toll Road payments advise please.

The Florida SunPass system has relied on license plate recognition for at least the last 4 years. There are no toll booths on the Florida Turnpike, they take your picture and send a bill. If you don't have SunPass, you pay a premium, and they charge in increments of $5 and don't provide...

    Toll Road payments advise please.

Most of the states you are touring use EZ-Pass. You can order an EZ-Pass for Motorcycles which provides a discounted toll compared to cars or cash. I recommend you just get the EZ-Pass from PA who only charges $3.00/year service fee. You will put a deposit of $10 for the transponder, and put...

    Front vs Rear Tire Wear

Jamie, have you ever had those Michelins changed? Try a T-30 on the fornt, no blocking or scalloping.
