    Nafo 2010 & Beyond

Today the BRP was just beautiful. No fog, lots of sunshine, and perfect temperatures. Rode from Fancy Gap to the end at Waynesboro, VA. Approx 250 miles today. Unfortunately, not many pics were taken because I happened upon this machine. Nice wicked bike ridden by a very good rider. We...

    Nafo 2010 & Beyond

Hellcreep's runnin' moonshine  I'm in a cheap motel near Fancy Gap, VA. Rode the BRP all f'ing day in rain, fog, and wet leaves. Don't mind the rain but the fog was bad, could not see and was nervously running at 25mph for several hours. No pics, there was nothing to be seen but fog...

    Nafo 2010 & Beyond

I departed from Hardy, AR, around midnight Wed, 22 Sep. Why did I begin the ride at midnight? Madness, I suspect. It was a cooler ride and I had no deer encounters, so the decision ended up being okay. On RT 412 in TN around 0200 while cruising at 75mph in a 55 zone a Sheriff came up behind me...

    Internet at NAFO Marriot

I called to ask if wireless was available in all rooms. Yes, it is. But- Unless you are a Marriot Rewards member and have achieved Gold Status, the internet service charge is $2.95/hour or $12.95/day! Hope there is a McDonalds with free Wi-Fi close by.

The good news is that I am alive ....

Scary stuff. Glad you are in one piece. You are going to be sore & hurting for awhile. When you get a chance let us know if the slick substance has been identified. Pics of the bike & gear would be appreciated too, but no hurry on that, sounds like you need some R&R right now.

Keeping my bike home with me this winter.

Redneck? I'm insulted :P . Well, not as insulted as I would have been a few years ago :trinibob: . I grew up in PA & MD, was edumacated at Penn State. Lived in Rhode Island, Florida, and lots of places between. Lived on my sailboat up & down the east coast for the last 10 years before...

    Slow leak in front tire

Had a problem tire once. It was losing a few pounds per day. No punctures found. Had it remounted with a new valve stem. Still leaked. Had it remounted yet again but that time applied a liberal amount of 3M Weather Strip Adhesive around the bead. Worked great. No more leaks and was able to go...

The first jet-powered flying man in the history of aviation

I've met Patty several times. Here's the Cub I competed with until I got Pitts fever. Not a stock Cub, licensed Experimental. Clipped Taylorcraft wings (semi-symmetrical for better inverted flight), Lycoming O-360, full inverted systems. It would out fly a Decathlon & was a blast to fly.
