CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

WTF?!? 25 friggin mph over does it? I do that every time I kick it down a gear and grab some throttle to pass a dawdling driver (to minimize his/her opportunity to hit me in their inattentive state). Doesn't OM pretty much have the record for enhancing state revenues in Oregon? And he's coming...

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Whoa -- seems to me that your guvmint passed some sorta 100 kph over posted limit law that went into effect shortly after I was last there in Sept. 2010. And that the consequences were motorcycle impoundment. Hudson has multiple bikes and can probably afford that better than I can.

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Fair enough. None of us seems to have an unambiguous set of facts (about the situation and what is being offered) upon which to rely. Seems that is the first step - a clear indication of what is actually being offered. That is probably integral to generating interest, and then, as has been...

    Quiet Forum These Days?

I might be wrong, but I read that admin job thread (esp. with the apparent implication in Bounce citing it) as "F#ck it, I'm done with running this thing, someone who can and wants to do it, please step up." Not sure why that would require the vacating management's pre-transfer rules to remain...

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Who would think that we'd have to explain that size matters to Barb, huh Mike? Barb: It'd have to be a very, very large asshole, . . . believe me. And this is the internet - just because someone reports a large anatomical part asshole doesn't necessarily make it so in the real world.

U.S. National Parks daily/weekly fees to rise ?

I've watched 40+ years of the evolving relationship between ski resort day ticket prices and season pass prices. The general trend over that time has been a reduction in the number of day ticket purchases required to equal the pass purchase price. It seems that, at least for day use resorts, the...

U.S. National Parks daily/weekly fees to rise ?

Not a small % increase, either. However, annual pass prices are to be unaffected . . . and those of us with lifetime Senior Passes continue to enjoy one of the best deals ever (best $10 I've spent). Note that the 30 day comment period just opened, should you wish to exercise your right to...

$78 Bridgestone BT023 Rear after rebate

That's cutting it awfully close, yer honor; some might even allege it to be negligent , but conga rats on getting it home after ~9 hours of worry. And you're right, by my recollection, that the 023 was not the OEM tire on either your Gen II or my Gen I. I just never bothered to keep track of...

$78 Bridgestone BT023 Rear after rebate

Bridgestone lost me with the OEM skins they supplied on my '05 (very low mileage, bad scalloping, headshake inducing black turds). Bad marketing move for their entire line to provide those pieces of shit on a bike I otherwise love. We all upgrade, but c'mon, man!

    RIP, Tom Petty

SNL tonight, in a 1 hour re-run following tonights new 90 minute live show, is a show from November of 1979 (38 years ago). The musical guest is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - appearing 4 months after I first saw them. Two songs performed: Refugee and Dont Do Me Like That. Of the 5 band...

    RIP, Tom Petty

I'm 65, and was still a ski bum living in Tahoe City the first time I saw him in '79 - at Calaveras County Fairgrounds, the opening act before Linda Ronstadt. To me, Tom Petty's music never seemed dated and I have more TP songs in my playlists than anything else. The Beatles hit the US while I...

Not an exaggeration there, and that isn't even extending the good guys vs. bad guys score to the full weekend.

    RIP, Tom Petty

Oct. 20, 1950 - Oct. 2, 2017 Teri and I saw him Friday, September 1 in Sacramento, 9 rows in front of the stage. This show was postponed from a week earlier, due to laryngitis. Teri, a nurse, commented that she thought it might have been more than just laryngitis. The performance was great, but...

    stiff brake pedal

I'm looking forward to reading about the eventually determined cause of this weirdness and the resolution. Good luck.

RIP Petey. Terribly sad news to start this weekend.

    stiff brake pedal

Kinda weird, indeed, if one hard stab was the only precursor action.
