First FJR - center of Connecticut

Here is a review worth reading but be advised; a comment on another review I found mentioned that although the bags come with a cover, they did not keep the contents at the bottom dry. 🤷🏼‍♂️ https://www.canyonchasers.net/2006/03/ventura-luggage-rack-system/ I’ll post some pics here shortly…

Hi there. New to the Forum

Dan, I humbly bow before thee. I did not know that. Now I do. …unless you’re yanking our chains, in which case you’ve thoroughly fooled me. 🤣

Welcome from eastern PA! I agree it depends what kind of riding you enjoy as to whether or not you’ll like the FJR. I tell everybody who asks what an FJR is that it’s basically “a comfortable crotch rocket with storage.” That suits me quite well since deep down I am not a “cruiser” kinda guy...

Bent nail, are you gonna make me say “please” to find out what you settled on that worked?!

    Sold HeliBars Risers

I guess as handgun owners have their proverbial “holster drawer,” motorcyclists have a box full of the seats that we hoped would make the cut and didn’t or just wound up as surplus for one reason or another, lol! I was trying to avoid that scenario (along with accumulating a garage full of...

    Sold HeliBars Risers

Funny you mention the Russell seat. I just put one on (albeit made for someone 40 lbs heavier than I) and now I get the strangest sensation like I’m sitting up on the bike rather than down in it. I can’t be more than an inch higher than before but the bike’s got a totally different feel now...

    Sold HeliBars Risers

Tx123, we may be doing business again… Picking up a new to me bike on Monday (2014) and I don’t yet know if I’ll need this riser. My current bike has some type of risers already and I can’t quite imagine riding without them …but I haven’t tried the stock position yet so I’ll have to pass for the...

    Pit-Bull TRS for the FJR

That looks really slick! Waaaaay more sexy than a $60 Chinese wheel chock from Harbor Freight!

    Noise from 3.5rpm

Somebody must’ve switched out my in-line four for a V-twin cuz my FJR is happy as can be putting around as low as 1,500 RPM through town. Sure, I like to downshift twice to pass grandma at the edge of town when the speed limit goes back up to 45+ but unless you’re trying to make a statement...

    Time To Hang It Up

I pm’d the originator of this thread requesting info on the bike and haven’t heard anything. Does anyone know if it’s already sold? 🤷🏼‍♂️

    NEW GUY

Sorry, just noticing your comment. I often ride Bucks Co over into NJ (always in search of ice cream) and Berks Co is a nice draw. There’s a road on the north side of Blue Mountain in Northampton Co called Mountain Drive that runs from Blue Mtn Ski area east to rte 33. Very nice road that we...
