    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

I bet that'll help a lot. I'm of the "make sure the wires look just like a nest of snakes" do-it-yourself school. I'll try isolating them all. It may be a few weeks before I am able to even test it, and the other suggestions, but thanks to all who've taken the time to give this your time and...

    Taming the beast

Dunno, but PM me your address and I"ll mail you a pair of Grip Puppies. I didn't like the thicker diameter, and don't have a vibe issue with the stock grips and bar ends, up to four hundred mile days, at least. One little corner of one of the puppies is torn...just put it on the bottom of the...

    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

Fred, you're exactly right, of course...except the unit I have is the Active Plus...just not quite as deluxe. I've got a ground loop isolator hooked directly into the Autocom input, with the little amp connnected to the isolator, and the ipod lead connected to the amp. What's so frustrating is...

    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

Good suggestion. He was going to be my next call..I got the unit from him. Autocomamerica was usual totally befuddled by my problem. I've had such bad luck with their support I found the name and email address of the president of the company in England and wrote suggesting he get a new...

    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

Thanks, Bram, the odd part is the Belkin adapter works fine in both my cars, and the Goldwing, and I'm using a ground loop isolator. I have to agree, though, it's time to try a different adapter. Is Topgear the Autocom distributor? Autocomamerica is my next call. Cheers, appreciate the input, M

    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

Well, that's what I thought, too, but if that were the case, I'd think any source would introduce the noise, and I only get it with microphone use...the static...and the ipod deal is definitely the Belkin adapter. There's something haywire with the mike section of the Autocom...I have a...

    Autocom/ipod/noise help needed

I've an interesting problem with an ipod, using an Autocom and a little amplifier, and a ground loop isolator. On battery power, there's no noise (alternator or other ignition noise), but when plugged into the cubby with a Belkin cigarette lighter adapter, bzzzzzzzzzzzzt. The interesting part...

    Suspension settings on the 06;

+1 on the settings posting, especially two-up changes...I do the same thing, would simplify things greatly to have starting points for both riding modes. TIA, M

    Free to a good home

I've got a pair I took off...one has a little corner torn...I'll mail 'em free to whoever answers first. I put them on, and added bigger bar weights, and my hands buzzed for an hour after just 60 miles. I took the weights off and put the stock ones back on, and most of the buzzing went away...

    Throttle Spring Danger

? Whud I miss? Fred snitted? Who was mean? Not nice. Fred, in the five months since I bought my bike, and the four and a half since I've ridden it, I've followed lots of your advice. Today I got to ride for the first time, with all the mods in place...well, with the two throttle mods...

    Repainting an FJR...

Great scheme...you seem to have a painter already, but if not, there's a lady lives in Houston somewhere who does bike graphics. She frequents the Two Wheeled Texans site, her screen name is "Squeaky." I know she's done some work for others...I've not personally seen it. I CAN vouch for two...

    Low Cost Sat Radio Mount

Very good design and execution. If others need beauty to go with function, I have two suggestions: wipe the galvanized metal parts with vinegar, or soak them in an acid-based toilet bowl cleaner...the idea is to get some acid on the metal, to etch it, so paint will stick, and then use black...

What do you think of my stripes?

Well, the quote's almost right, Groo. Change the first word from "Mom" to "Sis". I bleeb she's at least 16.

    Givi V46 LED Brake/tail lights

Fred, is there a good reason not to just buy a led light bar and stick it up in there? I don't have the Givi...I have a Hepco box, a similar reflector. I'd thought I'd just get a couple of those 5-led bars I see advertised and splice into the brake/tail light wiring harness, until I saw your...

    I Am Home!!!!

Oh. I see: When you're a Jet, You're a Jet all the way From your first cigarette To your last dyin' day. When you're a Jet, If the spit hits the fan, You got brothers around, You're a family man! You're never alone, You're never disconnected! You're home with your own: When...
