I had my instrument cluster replaced due to the paint blistering under the instrument face plate screws. This was covered either under my extended warranty or the factory for some other reason. Mileage was approx. 25,000 at that time.

Tighten it till it just barley strips and then back off a little!

I kept my stock ratio 'just because' I guess. I've had the new setup I bought from John and luv it. I do quite a bit of long distance riding and lots on the slabs and it works out well. Used a 'speed healer' to recalibrate the speedo so all I well on that end as well.

The 'fine tuning' involved two things. First I partially collapsed the underside of the rear tube that the Smuggler has to fit under to gain some clearance. That was a fairly simple task with a ball pein hammer. Nothing drastic, just a bit in the area that there is a bit of interference...

I use the Smuggler with my Givi 357 mount just fine. Did a little 'fine tuning' to get it to fit with the rack but it works great. Great farkle in my mind.

I have had them on my 05' for many years and they are the 'cats meow'. I'd estimate at least 1/2 HP increase and tons of torque! LOL! Seriously, they are nice and seem to reduce some of the heat down there from the original cats. They are high quality, easy to install and look good. One thing...

I am VERY skeptical this thing works unless it's got some magic involved! The size of thise connecting wires could never flow 200 amps with out major voltage drop. Just doesn't pass the 'smell test' in my mind!
