    Hard start after 8 weeks

No fuel in the lines. You won't have a problem again unless it sits for an extend period of time( it usually has to sit longer than two weeks to develop the problem). You probably had to motor (keep the starter engaged) for a much long time to get the engine to fire up, and then had to keep...

    AE Clutch Engagement is Adjustable

As I mentioned, the bike sifted pretty smoothly from day one. However, by about the 800 mile mark I had developed shifting techniques that made all shifts up and down seamless and extremely smooth. I have found it takes " extremely" minor rapid throttle movement dependent on how much the bike...

    AE Clutch Engagement is Adjustable

I'd develop my technique before adjusting anything on a new machine. They don't come from the factory out of adjustment. Ten different riders will have ten different opinions on what is a proper electronic clutch adjustment. The best thing is for the ten riders to adjust to the bike. My "AE"...

OK what did you think of the AE?

The "AE" is a manual transmission. Just an electronic clutch.. I know I read that on the forum a year or so ago.

    FJRAE and '05 FJR

I took my 06 "AE" on a three thousand mile trip to New Mexico and Colorado over the past several days. The bike was fantastic in the mountains and on the flat. Close to 300 miles on dirt and gravel roads. Shortly after returning I asked myself why I had two motorcycles that are pretty much...

    Shifting the AE Model

The "AE" is simply in a word: fantastic! Once you "break the shifting code" it is far, far superior to the manual clutch model period! I have now, 39,000 miles on a 05 FJR. It's a great bike, but the "AE" beats it hands down in every area. The bike is smooth, no throttle issues, and...

    FJR-AE RIDER REPORTS

Where do you live? I hear people complain about the windshield often. I am 6' 5" and I ride with the windshield down all the time unless it is raining moderately to hard. I bought a larger windsheld for the 05 FJR and it stayed on the bike for one day! That windshield has been in the garage...

    FJR-AE RIDER REPORTS

Isn't that the truth! Kind of makes you wonder just how professional! I just hit the 1000 mile mark on my "AE". The bike just get better and better every ride. In fact, I am about to let it get a little better in a few minutes! Shifting has been pretty smooth, crisp and timely from day one...

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

I think the kill switch will resolve an open stuck thotte problem.

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

Shane, Congrat's on the new bike. I think if you open the side vents you will just be hotter. I think with them closed is the coolest configuration. Shane, while upshifting try just relaxing on the throttle when you hit the paddle to shift. (the opposite seems to work pretty well on...

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

You got that right!! Now if someone makes a comment about the "AE", I just tell them I like the P--sy pink tent in the paint (that I can't see) and agree that only "girly men would ride a bike that shifts with your finger". Then I ride off into the sunset with a smile on my face knowing that...

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

You can't hurt the YCCS. It is idiot proof. The computer won't let you screw up the bike! Experiment!!!! Different techniques work in different situations. No single shifting technique will provide a seamless shift in all situations. The more you ride it the better your technique will...

    Handguns

Pack a can of "bear spray" cheaper, safer and less problems. Shoots about 30 feet. Multiple sprays from one container. I carry one when traveling in my tank bag. Anybody says anything I just tell them I am going camping in bear country.
