    anyone use Airhawk by Roho

The first air seat was the Allyn. Sells for around $50. I've had mine for over 20 years and still works fine. I haven't tried the Airhawk so I can't compare but my guess is there pretty much the same for comfort but the Allyn is a little ugly. https://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78233

First ride on my "new" FJR and I get stung by a Yellow Jacket

They could be attracted if it was sitting still but at the speed I was traveling it probably didn't know what hit it. I got an e-mail from Draggin Jeans that my pair of knee and hip armored jeans have been shipped.

Gen1 Windscreen tuning block lessons learned

One possible problem with broken windshield bolts maybe the joining of dissimilar metals. The two metals just need to be touching each other for possible erosion. There needs to be some sort of coating of insulation between most different types of metals. Stainless steel and carbon steel is one...

Pics of my Yellow '05 FJR

You don't see a lot of yellow FJR's so I thought I would share mine. Got it 4 days ago. ABS, tall shield, extended mirrors, paging alarm and 8340 miles. It will have a Russell Day Long seat with the current group buy. Sounds like a new bike. Absolutely no ticking.

First ride on my "new" FJR and I get stung by a Yellow Jacket

Thanks for the link Braenen. I think I will get a pair. I was a little worried about the Motoport stiffness. I was also stung by a Yellow Jacket three weeks ago in the back yard. When stung I am in pain for about 3-4 days. The swelling goes down in 7-8 days. That's if I wash the area and keep...

    Hot tire pressure

Also, for every 1000 feet gained in altitude tire pressure goes up 1/2 lb. So if you ride up 10,000 feet and it gets 50 degrees warmer since you last checked it that's 10 psi more pressure.

    Blurry right side mirror

I bought a '05 with extra long mirrors three days ago and before test riding I noticed both mirrors were so loose they were flopping around. When I test drove it I was surprised both reflections were clear. I tightened them up yesterday, both nuts on both sides were half way off, and now they...

First ride on my "new" FJR and I get stung by a Yellow Jacket

Yea, I kept count. I usually have 2 to 4 at a time. Bought a '67 BSA Shooting Star 441 single early Jan. '71 as my first bike. I see something I want I get it. Not much self control. Right now I have a '83 Honda FT500 Ascot single, '00 Suzuki SV650 naked, '06 Kaw ZX-14 and the FJR. I wonder if...

First ride on my "new" FJR and I get stung by a Yellow Jacket

Fortunately I'm not allergic. One sting can kill an allergic person if not treated soon enough. It gets worse each time they get stung. I have gotten stung at least once a year over the last 21 years I have lived in this house.

First ride on my "new" FJR and I get stung by a Yellow Jacket

I can't believe it. Other than the 5 mile test ride two days ago today was the first time I have ever rode a full fairing bike. Now I am sitting here waiting for the baking soda to dry on my knee and my head full of that powerful antihistamine that makes you sleepy. I got my '05 FJR ABS Wed...

    Will a 08 motor bolt into a 04 readily?

Towards the end of summer is usually the best time to find wrecked bikes at the auction houses. They often list online which bikes are being sold beforehand. This way you bypass the middleman on e-Bay, get all the parts and maybe even know the mileage if you can turn on the ignition.

Best aftermarket shock for the Feejer?

I can see the logic of buying the best shock you can find. The guys at SVrider, the SV650 forum "lean" toward the Penske. I like that they are made to be user rebuildable.

    ZX14 vs FJR comparo

Thanks for the comparo Texan. I have a '06 ZX-14 and I am going to look at a '05 FJR tomorrow. For those considering a 14, '06 and '07's with the flies removed, after market exhaust and power commander have the same power as the newer modded 14's. I lost 26 lbs on my bike with a full Yosh...
