    Shout out for D & H Cycles

I haven't posted in a while, but I really wanted to add my voice to the many who have already acclaimed the customer service at D & H Cycles. Talked with Gerald a couple of times yesterday to purchase a YES. I told him he could easily work for the Alabama Department of Tourism as he recited...

    New Member from KY

Congratulations and welcome from another Kentuckian. I also got my '08 from Wes at Lexington. Good people. You will enjoy the bike. Let's just hope most of winter is over and we can get out. Keith

    Battery Tender

I'm sure there's a simple solution and that some of the fine folks here will be able to provide it. I just put a battery tender cable on the battery. For those that use one, where do you zip tie the portion that remains attached to you battery? As I've looked there's not much there to use...

    Cornering confidence

Well, let me throw in here. I came from a BMW K1200LT...just as heavy and big as a GW. I think it handles a little better, but that's for another thread. Since getting my FJR I have found that I can take a lot of the same curves at the same or higher speeds with much less lean angle. At...

All '08 Owners Out There! I Need '08 Windshield Advise!

No problems that I've noticed. About the only thing that I use to clean it with is Plexus. Keith

    FJR for two up

Xdriver, Unfortunately I have a little different opinion of it as a 2-up bike than what's been said...or at least my wife does. The problem is...our previous bike was a BMW K1200LT a true touring bike with all the comforts of your living room sofa. I have lowered the pass. pegs, added a truck...

    It's almost time

FJR Pilot, Don't sell the FJR before reading this. For your own sanity, reconsider buying a Moto Guzzi! I can say that because I have one in my garage. It's not the bike, it is the support or lack there of that you will get once you buy. Not saying you don't have a good dealer, but Piaggio...

    Tourer

Nah, can't be that. Mine is entirely stock too and I have taken two long rides the past two weekends...about 1,100 miles. One of the weekend rides was with my wife on the back. Everything on the bike is stock, except the peg extenders that I put on for her. I was about to spend money I...

    Replacing a tire

Zip, The tires do not have to be of the same manufacturer, BUT they have to both be either radials or bias. Do not have a bias/radial mix. You might find the two just don't work well together, that happens sometimes, but at worst you order a new front to match your rear. Keith

    Engine really freed up...

Yes...changed the oil; Yes...changed the final drive fluids; Yes...checked the torque of the steering head (which is not a visual inspection; No...the throttle bodies were not synced. Guess that's one I made sure of. And, Yes...I still think it was one hell of a price. Keith

    1st FJR

beg, Now the fun begins. I'm on my first FJR too. Replaced a BMW K1200LT. No regrets! You are going to fall more and more in love with that bike. Have fun and stay safe. Keith

    Engine really freed up...

Just got my 600 mile service done this morning. It is amazing how much the engine seems freed up after the break-in oil was drained. And best of all...the price of the 600 service can't be beat! $69.00!!!!! I'm not kidding. These guys did a great job, added a little anti-freeze and also...

    Jazz and relaxing.

Never have been bothered by scrapping a peg or side of my boot. Just before I got the FJR, the wife and I took one last long ride on the BMW K1200LT. Coming home through some real sweepers I had it leaned so far my wife asked me if she was supposed to pick something up off the road. Thank God...

Any last minute prep stuff I should do before picking up my new FJR Tomorrow?

LA, I got the E52 Givi and the SW mounting. I see no problems with the mount or set up. There is also an aluminum mount that you will need as well. I went with this set up because to use the entire Givi mount you have to remove the stock rear hand rails and I don't like the looks of the Givi...

Wide open sweepers or tight twisties

Took that ride years ago too. It is a spectacular ride. I was with a buddy who was a Sgt. with the Phoenix PD. We had gone to Sedona, Oak Canyon, Flagstaff, Jerome, Prescott and back to Phoenix from about 8 am until nearly 11 pm when I got back to the hotel. On one stretch coming down a...

Wide open sweepers or tight twisties

JBWBHS, I'm originally from NC. Been in Kentucky almost a year now. You sure do live in a beautiful part of the state. I got rid of the LT for a couple reasons, one, no dealer support within 4 hour drive. But in complete honesty, I had lost some enthusiasm for riding. The FJR has brought...

FJR comparison to Kawi Concours 14

Pat, I had a similar question about a month or so ago. Scroll back a few pages and you should find some good info and links to reviews and comparisons. Keith

Wide open sweepers or tight twisties

You want to try throwing something heavy around, take a K1200LT through the tight turns. That's nearly 900 pounds, but it sure handles great for a bike that big. Scrapped the sides of my boots on many a turn. Having come off of that, I don't find the FJR as heavy as some of you do. I'm sure...
