    Loctite Products

Thank you for the information. I didn't know it came in this semi-solid form. Will be glad to get rid of my half plugged up big bottle of blue loctite that always comes out like a big blob of catsup making a mess. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

    An inexpensive farkle

I think you're all being polite. This is the most dumbass thread I've read. Boy, what a handy gadget!

    Throttle spring

I believe these bolts are torqued to 27 ft-lbs. Correct me if I'm wrong. This is what it says in the shop manual.

    AE SPECIFIC QUESTION

Nothing. Pushing it makes it go up (or down), holding it does nothing more (no neutral). It stays wherever it last went. One interesting thing is, when coasting to a stop, you can just keep kicking it down, and the lowest gear it will go to is first. To go to neutral the bike must be...

    FJR-AE RIDER REPORTS

Have posted my impressions in another location but will post here also. Have 400 miles on my AE now. Was a little disappointed at first. There is a learning curve involved. Found the smoothest shifting by not backing off on the throttle while upshifting. Still can't do a seamless shift like...

    06 AE impressions.

Back from a 400 mile ride this weekend. First off, I am a "cup 1/2 full" kind of guy and am trying to give an honest impression of the AE. I want this to be the end all bike. The electric clutch is trick. Good for lazy riders. Nice to just click the lever to downshift when coming to an off...

    06 AE impressions.

Picked up the new AE today and put about 30 miles on it. Initial impression is it is way different driving than the old clutched bikes. Have to give real smooth easy throttle at takeoff or it lurches. Owners manual states to back off on throttle while up shifting. Found (in my lofty 30...

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

Got the call and am picking mine up today. Ordered in October (?) from PCP in Sacto. Will let you know how all goes.

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

I'd take it back and get the oil leaks checked out. Look at the pavement underneath your new bike. What a mess. Congrats!

Rear brake on left bar on AE

    Well, what do you think?

Rear brake on left bar on AE

Ten bazillion scooter riders will argue with you. I have motorcycles that I jam around on for fun on the weekends and for long rides. For commuting on city streets (no freeways) I ride an Aprilia scooter and it is way quicker, easier, and much more convenient than a motorcycle. The rear brake...

Rear brake on left bar on AE

Has anybody in farkle land considered fabricating or adapting a rear brake lever to fit on the left handle bar for the AE. It would make the bars look more normal, more symetrical, and the rear brake would be in a lot more convenient position. Could shift with your left hand or foot and could...

When did you get your 06 AE bike?

Talked to my dealer PCP Yamaha (sounds like James Brown's motorcycle dealer) in Sacramento, and their computer says my AE arrived in Southern CA on the 23rd and should be in Sacto. in a week or week and a half. It's been so long I've almost lost interest in the bike. We'll see.

    What's your favorite wheel cleaner?

Don't mean to hijack the subject from the dead dog to wheel cleaners, but WD 40 works great. Cuts grease, doesn't harm paint, prevents rust, smells good on your hands and improves your sex life. Removes chain lube easily from rims on chained bikes.

    Trailer my FJR

The Canyon Dancerss tend to squish the grips of a bike towards the inside. If too much pressure is applied on the tie downs it really screws things up. I believe I have the handle bar straps that are in the picture and they work way better than the Canyon Dancers. I do not know the name of...

    Motorcycle Jack

I bought that one and it was adequate. Then I saw that Sears made an aluminum one that was way more trick and bought that one. I gave away the first one. Sears occasionaly offers the aluminum one on sale at a pretty good discount. Wait for the sale, or impulsively just buy the aluminum one...

    If you drop it...

There's a web site, women bikers, or lady bikers, something like that, that has a video of some small woman lifting some big ass downed bike by her self. It was the technique that was mentioned at the beginning of the thread, "knees bent, butt to seat, lift grab rail and handle bar etc" Google...
