    2007 Utah 1088 - Final Results

I'd like to congratulate former FJR owner and former forum member, Jim Bay who completed his first ever endurance event in 24th place with 73551 points and 2nd in mileage with 1585. Jim who then rode home to Denver and promptly left on a two week vacation, was pretty excited about his finish...

    Daytona 675

And to put this back on track... I love the 675. It is extremely light, quick, and massively uncomfortable. In short, it is what it is. It is a small displacement bike that turns real well. The power delivery is much like the Speed Triple and with its light weight and excellent torque...

    Daytona 675

I have ridden several Speed Triples. Here is what I have gleaned from these rides. Obviously no wind protection- its amaing how people I have heard complain that they do not have wind protection after they ride one. Do they think there is an invisible fairing or something? Low end power is...

    Any FZ-1 Riders Out there?

You've gotten some good responses so far, here are a few items to consider. Most FZ1 Gen2 owners agree that it costs about $600 to fix the bad snatch on the 06. The 07 is supposedly better. One thing that is not advertised too often is that the Gen2 has an ignition retarding device that...

    Correct Conclusion???

This case should never have gotten as far as it did. Classic example of people thinking that "someone had to have been at fault" it sure couldn't have been my son, he was such a good boy. Sad all around

Hard to decide: FJR vs BMW K1200GT

Thanks for the response and the opinions you expressed in the next post. Good stuff

    crash!

Glad it wasn't worse, hope you stop hurting soon. Damn rocks! They are a constant threat here as well.

    Concours 14 VS FJR1300

6000 mile valve checks? That doesn't sound right out of a Japanese product. Unless I am mistaken the old Connie had that interval, it is hard to believe that the modern 14 powerplant would not have improved intervals.

BMW K1200GT broke down in Reno, Nv.

Dam you beat me to it! I had that same thought. I guess the french bearings surrender to wear and tear sooner

    V-stream windshield-who do I call?

Yup, Mike at University is carrying on the tradition

Hard to decide: FJR vs BMW K1200GT

I am not playing devil's advocate, I am just curious. If the BMW is superior in your mind, why did you sell it and not the FJR.

Doing 1000 miles in 24 hours

Nannyist. Don't forget to wear a helmet when you shower- you could slip in the tub

    dog type question

I've had Shepherds for almost 40 years and am not seeing that either. Akita though, that is a good bet. Nice homestead you have there!

    Well, well, well . . .

Looks to me like that smashed a ST1300 into an FJR and then added some ZX-14 ribbed (for her pleasure) accents. Nothing ground breaking here and if that report on the power being what it is, is true, nothing ground breaking there either. BUT it does appear to be an improvement over the old Connie.

    Highway debris

Worst or weirdest thing to get me was thankfully in a pick up. Someone had lost a catalytic converter and who knows how many vehicles had run it over making it fairly flat. The car ahead of me hit it and it flipped up into the air about windshield high. There it hovered, spinning on its axis...

MV Agusta F4 or R1 LE

GSXR 1000 k6 or k7 :clapping: Fastest, most comfortable, best handling, less expensive. but to answer your real question. If you are speaking of the R1 LE as in the 500 made variety I'd go with that. Long term value is excellent due to its low production numbers, with all the goodies...

Good place to get a Shoei X-11

Last fall University Motors gave my wife a great deal on an X-11 Vermeulen for 510 shipped. Found it for that on ebay but I trust Gary McCoy more than anyone on ebay.

    Michelin Pilot Roads

Not sure how applicable this is but here goes: I have the Azaros on the FJR and PRs on the FZ-1. I like both on the respective mounts. Here is my caveat. I like the Azaros at high pressures such as 40-42, below that they seem to loose a lot of grip. The opposite is true of the PR. Run at...

The Dragon or Wolfs pen gap?

+1 on that. Here in Colorado, the Dragon wouldn't even get ridden, it is too short to bother with.
