I had a similar problem, turned out to be a loose battery cable. Clock and trip meter reset.

My exhaust valve seals have been replaced with updated "09" seals. My mechanic had to do a valve clearance adjustment as well, they where out of spec when recieved back from machine shop.

Jestal, My Canadian 04 was fixed in sept 05 I was told then the "new" valve seal # was 33m-12119-09-00, the old # is 33m-12119-00-00, Hope this helps.

the walmart supertech 7313 ($2.07) is the same filter as the bosch 3323 ($6.00) and I have used both without any problems.

Oem shock leaked at 3000mi, replaced under warranty, 280lbs, wilbers group buy solved my problem. bike never handled better.

I used the Yamaha recomended break in guidlines for the first 1000kms.

Robin, My Wife and I weigh 450lbs together. I purchased a wilbers rear shock through a group buy sprung to our weight and riding style. It has made a huge improvement in the handling of the bike. The rear end does not "sqwat" any longer as it did w/the oem shock (which craped out at 4000mi.)...
