Pantyhose always felt hot to me (but I've never tried wearing them when I ride the bike). I have a pair of silk long-johns I wear under my mesh riding pants. They absorb sweat and dry quickly.

Oooh, bummer. Glad you're OK. I've feared that exact scenario myself. But the insurance will pay for another bike, right? :D

I'm the only one at my office (roughly 30 people, I think), but there are three others who work in my building and commute during better weather. I think many of us feel that 110 degrees is too hot to ride, but it's starting to cool off. The worst part of the summer is over :)
