    Fuel guage calibration

Keep us informed. It might tickle my memory a little and I'll be able to provide some helpful information. Dan

    Grounding Harness

My harness was just replaced with a brand, spanking new one from Yamaha. The first thing I did, when the bike got home, was to open it up and check for improvements/changes in the system of spiders. Yamaha is still using the same connectors and wire gauge. The chances are still excellent that...

Here come the questions, Round 2: Suspension settings.

All the "click" measurements are meant to be from full tight outward. In other words, gently bottom the adjuster and then back it out. That's the only way to get consistent results as the "click range" seems to vary from bike to bike. 1. "Righty-tighty" on both sides. 2. When it stops...

Blackwater Junction Restaurant - Take 2

I am surprised to hear that, since you have a GenI. My bike sometimes acts exactly the same way. I have been thinking it was an S4 problem, with the intermittently faulty ground circuit having a deleterious effect on the directional stability portion of the ECU, thus causing an anomalous "this...

Let's see your custom cut windshield

Actually, I don't get anymore rain in the face than with the regular shield. In my case, the rain hits me mid chest. No one makes rain gear that will keep you dry with hard rain hitting the rain jacket in the zipper area (even with storm flaps) at 60+ MPH for hour after hour. OTOH, in that...

Let's see your custom cut windshield

Same situation as FJRBluesman. Not warm enough yet to mount it. I taped both sides and drew a pattern on the tape. Cut it with a jigsaw and metal blade very slowly so as not to melt. Final shaping with a surform and finishing with progressively finer sand paper. BTW, cut it while mounted on...

Blackwater Junction Restaurant - Take 2

North Road on the way home was OK, except for a few places that were recently raked and graded, leaving a section of marbles like gravel to navigate. Did manage to avoid Dunbarton on the way home. Once again, thanks for the good company. Dan

    Fuel guage calibration

My problem with the fuel gauge was at the opposite end, I could never get the thing to read full. I'm the one who posted about it several years ago and had the fuel pump out of the tank, gently bending the float arm, six times. It's not that it was that important, it just became a cause...

    Have A Cigar!

Thanks for sharing that, Chris. I know it'll never be over, but I hope it gets gentler on you.

    I can't help staring

Was just out running errands and stopped by the local Ducati dealer. As bulky as the Diavel appears in pictures, it seems really massive in person. The salesman had me sit on it to prove it really isn't too big. I confess that it feels really light under you. FWIW, the sales guy claimed 400...

    Switch

Don, After fixing the spider problem last time, did you install auxiliary grounding help, the Brodie harness or something similar? If not, the spider problem will return and you may be seeing the beginning of it again. As you know, it will eventually lead to total failure. Dan

Just called to make sure they will be open and the answer is - YES! See everyone at 10AM.

Speedo doesn't sweep after switching on - sometimes

It most certainly is. Take a look at the Brodie writeups to see how the ground circuit is wired. But, I'm not suggesting you blame S4 right now. Just suggesting a methodology to check it. Dan
