Clearing out the garage, bike has been sold 3 years ago. Both are hardly used as I settled on a Cee Bailey screen for the long haul.

Bundle up, go out and sit on it for an hour and let us know how it feels......
Mine was delivered yesterday. I just bought some glue and stainless steel staples today and will attempt the installation tomorrow.
BTW, I noticed they included the plastic cover sheet, but the instructions said it...
i looked at it, but it is hard to tell how long it has been like that since it does not get cleaned down there. I removed the nuts where it attaches behind the cats to prevent any rattling and don't plan to replace the mounts. I think the muffler mounts should provide enough support to take...
Over the holiday weekend, I decided to finally lubricate the rear shock relay arm bearings. My 2007 has over 41k miles and the arm has never been serviced.
I first removed both mufflers and next removed the 4 center stand bolts. Instead of cutting the front bolts, I simply pried the exhaust...

Hey Dimndski,
I just purchased the new unpainted half from Yamaha and transferred my scratched painted half to the new half, put the insurance money towards some tires to it and called it a day. The scratches were pretty minor, but I may get it painted eventually one day.
Does anyone know if the "case bottoms" of all the gen II saddlebags are interchangeable?
In my 2nd incident with a cager, my right bag was knocked clear from the bike and broke the latch that goes into the frame. This piece does not appear to be serviceable and either the whole saddlebag or...
I just got rear ended on Monday by a youngster in a Cadillac. I passed him about a mile before the incident and saw him holding a cell phone in one hand while driving. I did not see the phone on him when he got out, but I would not be surprised if he still had it when he hit me.

I like the fix you did on the Positaps by drilling them out to fit the Yamaha wires. I wish you told us about that earlier as it is tight in there to get a solder gun, and the quick splices from the local auto parts store are junk . You may want to share this information here as well for...
I would say 3-4 hours should be enough, a little longer if you have FZ1 mirrors.
One area that cost me some extra time was trying to use those quick-splice connectors from the auto parts store since the Positaps supplied with the Kristas did not match the wires on the bike. Save your time and...
Learnin4life,
I believe Niehart's solution will be the easiest and quickest way to mount the brackets if you have the FZ1 mirrors on. Use a large drillbit and drill out the mounting holes on the Clearwater brackets so that the light bracket will fit over the 2 bushings from the faring. Then...
I completed installing my Kristas this weekend. Because of my FZ1 mirrors, it took a lot more time than expected. The shorter studs on the FZ1 mirrors made it impossible to get the nuts on the threads of the studs. Someone mentioned grinding the base of the studs down, but this will only...
I had no idea the R even existed till I read this. I just got my SMH 10-11 yesterday and installed into my Shoei Qwest. Tried it out today, works as advertised. Paired instantly with the iphone 5. Main use will be to listen to Pandora and receive phone calls. I'll test out Google Maps for...
Hey Gary, according to the clearwater website, the colored bezels are only availble for the Glendas and Darlas. Did Lorett quote the additional fee for the colored bezels?
Did you mount the dimmer switch to your radar detector???? I don't have one of those, but it looks like a great spot.

Thanks Mike, I should have said voltage sensor kit. Costs the same as the Datel and looks like you only have to drill one small hole in the panel as opposed to cutting out a larger square. I'm the guy who measures once and cuts 3 times.
Darksiders should be on the bottom of the list... You must ship your kit to me and I'll send you mine when it arrives. j/k
I think I'll order their voltage kit as well. I don't want to cut too much plastic on my ride.
Remember to post a pic when you are done.
Thanks for setting this up Linc.
Lorett informed me on Wednesday that they are out of the Krista brackets and my order will not ship for another week or two. Who was the lucky guy to get the last pair of Kristas??
I had a similar incident where I stopped behind a car and then got rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me. When the cops showed up, he asked me to sign a ticket for following too closely. I insisted I was pushed into the car in front. He later checked with the driver of the front...
